Fujitsu ScanSnap S510 drivers for Mac

I just want to share this tip as I nearby dumped my ScanSnap S510 because it is not officially supported by Fujitsu for Mac computers / OS X. After a bit of research I found that the drivers and software for another ScanSnap model (S1500M) also work for S510 connected to a Mac. I use a current generation (2012 late model) updated with OS X 10.8.2. After downloading and installing the following two files, it works well with no error code after scanning. The files are:

File description	Version	Remarks
ScanSnap Manager for Mac	V3.2L31	Install this first
ScanSnap Manager for Mac (update)	V3.2L60 (July 2, 2012)	Then this
General info about the drivers and software	Fujitsu's corporate web site

Excellent recommendation. Thank you for doing the research Alford! This works perfectly fine for me. I appreciate the input that saved my ScanSnap S510. Thank you!

Thank you! Merci! Gracias! Excellent, simple instructions. (Tried vainly before to get this working and did not feel right dropping down hundreds for a new scanner). Works beautifully and we're now humming along scanning in Mountain Lion with a ScanSnap s500. 🙂

Alford7 - thank you very much for posting this!!! It works perfectly for me. I have a ScanSnap S510 (PC version), and I'm on OS X 10.8.4.

Your post re: how to use ScanSnap S510 with OS 10.8 was very helpful. I have a Macbook Pro which orginally came with 10.7 and I had upgraded it to 10.8.

I was also under the impression that I will have to dump my Scanner, which otherwise is an excellent piece.

My thanks as many of the above for your guidance. Now have my S510 running on my macBook. I do have one question. On SS manager on the PC, had option to set documents face up or face down. Can't find this particular setting in SS manager for Mac. Any clues, please.
