My Iphone 4 is not ringing and the phone is not muted or water damage! What can I do?

I took my phone to the AT&T store and this is the proper way to fix this problem.

On the left side, above the volume switches is a switch (may be covered up if you have Otter Box like I do). If you see orange on the switch, your phone will not ring. You need to flip it so you don't see the orange. Now your phone will ring and all other attendant sounds willl occur.

Unbelievable!!! Same thing happened to me when I upgraded to iOS7 so I brought it to Apple, they accused me of getting it wet and denying it (which never happenned), thankfully, I had Apple care, but it still cost me $50 and I bought a new case because I live in the pacific northwest and it rains once in a while so I thought perhaps it was ambient moisture getting into my charging prong. I went with the Mophie case, $80, and my new phone would only ring intermittently, which is a problem since I have responsibilities attending to emergency calls. Now with my new phone doing exactly what my old phone did, I can't help but be frustrated with the genius bar's assumption that I lied about the moisture and now I spent $130 plus tax that I never had to spend since it turns out that my do not disturb was enabled and that solved the problem, COMPLETELY!!!!! Thanks so very much SCroc. Wish I had my old phone so I could have tried that first. One would think the "GENIUS" at the apple store should have known this basic function and checked it first....Classic example of 5 star customer service

Well, after spending a whole day trying to downgrade my wife's 7.1 to 6.1.3, and/or working with VZ, I decided to query the internet. I haven't opened up the Otter case, but her phone works with the line through the bell. Geeze I really HATE iOS 7.
