My Iphone 4 is not ringing and the phone is not muted or water damage! What can I do?

I've spent hours and hours over the last week or so trying all sorts of fixes for this problem – all to no avail. I was beginning to resign myself to the fact that I might have to fork out £50+ to get my iPhone repaired... or even £500+ to get it replaced! 😮 But your fix brought the missing sounds back; thank you so much. The volume buttons on the side of the phone still aren't working, but it's not much of a problem, because if I need to access the master volume control, I can do it via assistive touch. Thanks again for your genius fix.

This solution allows my iphone ringer to operate / thanks. I wish I could understand or explain what happened to my ringer; it just quit working regardless of the many attempts to verify that all settings were compliant with the ringer function. Whatever, just thankful now that I can receive an audible notification that someone is trying to call me. Thanks again for posting this helpful information!
