Adobe Photoshop 7.0

I just installed Adobe Phtoshop 7.0 onto my computer, and within 30 minutes of using it, several problems occurred on my computer. So far, what I noticed to have happened was my trash bin having been suddenly emptied out, everything coming off of my desktop including my wallpaper except for the Mac HD icon, all of my setting having been reset, my bookmarks being have been deleted, some icons now have a blue folder icon rather than their original pictures, and my picture icons no longer show up as pictures but rather as a plain jpeg icon. Other than this, many of my files seem to still be there. Is there anything I can do to restore what has been lost?
