App Store on Iphone 5 not working properly

I have tried everything listed I can find on this thread and others with the exception of completely wiping my phone. I have been working with Apple Support and have done everything they have asked so far. After my last email to them I have not heard back from them in 2 days. My iphone 5 with current software version 6.1.4 brings up a blank screen when I go to the "app store" in the "search", "top charts" and "featured" screens and does not seem to respond when I select "categories". "Genius" and "updates" seem to work.

I called Apple Support and tried everything. The only way to fix my phone was to completely wipe then restore my phone.

pac_80 that worked for me. I went into settings, App Store, logged out and logged in again. App Store works fine after that. Many, many thanks!!

btw - I'm running an iPod Touch 2G.

I have the same exact symptoms as Kronas with iphone5 and IOS 6.1.4.

Still no solution other than backing up and restoring the phone?

and randomly after 2 weeks its working again without doing anything.

I have to.. When I was browsing the app store, the main page seems not responding. I've been trying to swipe the apps but it doesn't scroll. What I did is to re open the app again.

I don't know if this helps but here goes.

Somehow my AppStore setting would freeze and downloads from AppStore would spin circles and not download to my phone, both new and previously purchased.

So what worked?

I didn't have my "home sharing" on.

That was it!

Hello guys I had the same problem on my iPhone 5c and I fixed it, just hold the lock + home button until Apple logo comes out then let go and it will work 100% 🙂

So I've had this issue for about 3 months.

Today, I went to Settings/App Store/Apple ID/View Apple ID/Payment Information and re-entered my credit card info.

Just to be sure, I also looked at the Terms of Service

Got out of Settings, went to App Store and it now works.

Solved !!!

Goto Settings > App Store > Logout and then Login again

As I am not having the same problem I am having a problem with the App Store and YouTube and anything to do with my Apple ID on my iPhone 5s and whenever I go onto the App Store it loads then brings up the retry I click it it instantly goes back to the retry screen as for YouTube I would open it load retry screen and the same thing as the App Store I deleted YouTube in hopes to get to get it back and it would be fine but that's when I realized the App Store didn't work so I signed out of my Apple ID to sign back in again in hopes it would work and it wouldn't it let me sign back in I don't know if it's something up with google cause I have a gmail email for my Apple ID and that google got hacked or something but please just HE
