My iphone 5 goes "no service".
When my iphone 5 goes out of network, "no service" shows. But the phone doesn't search for network, even if there is, untill I tell the phone to search for network. Why?
iPhone 5, iOS 6

This has happened to me a couple of times now, I've tried turning on and off "Airplane Mode" but it doesn't help. Only thing that brings the service back up is to reboot the phone. Network or software issue it's annoying and needs to be corrected.
iPhone 5, iOS6, Telus LTE/3G network
I have exactly the same issue here in the UK on the Three network. I'm currently having my iPhone 5 replaced by Apple under an Applecare service request specifically for the "No Service" issue but, having read this thread, it seems like a common problem.
Hope it gets sorted soon by an IOS update.
Update: My Iphone was replaced by the genius bar at the apple store.
Has the replacement resolved the problem ?
it has. I've had it for a couple days now and haven't had any issues.
That's excellent news, I hope my replacement also resolves the issue.
My problem was never really sovled after all.
Called Apple support who told me to call to get a replacement phone, so I'm going to call tomorrow and do that.
Will update here later on with how it goes..
Well, I repeat..⚠
I've done a reset of the device...and I did NOT synced the phone with iTune AT ALL (got to DL my old apps manually directly from AppStore)
Since than I didn't not encountered any problem YET...
It seems that android users who has phones that enable multiple networks such as HSPA, HSPA+, and DC-HSDPA also has problem with the phone switching from 2g to 3G to 3G+ HSPA+ .
The problem might be on the operator provider side ( THREE 3 - in my case) .. or on the phone...(software) ...
I called Apple today and they will send me a new phone.
A couple of hours ago I got an message that iOS 6.0.1 was out so I updated my phone, and then made my phone get "no service" (put it under my leg when I sit in my couch). Then I took it out again where I know I have service but even after a few minutes I still had not got service back until I did flight mode on/off. So the problems does not seem to be fixed in iOS 6.0.1 either.
Will be back when I get my new phone and tell you how it goes.
I have the same problem with orange with my IPhone 5, am trying resetting using itunes and will let you know what happens
I now have a replacement iPhone 5 and have installed 6.01 so will report back if the issue is resolved.
Hi everyone,
I have the same probleme here in Morocco.
I used to have the same bugs with my iPhone 4s and nothing has changed after replacing it by the I5...➖
no update, no restore and no reset could have solved thoses bugs...
Shame on you Apple
Same problem here, white iPhone 5 32gb, updated to iOS 6.0.1 last night but hasn't made any difference.
My wife also sees this on here iphone 5, same model.
Both on t-mobile uk.
It is not only in Sweden.
Download/install the iOS6.0.1 update, this solves the problem.
It did not solve my problems
