Having problems here, too, with a brand-new iPod touch 5th generation. I've tried resetting, turning Siri off and restarting, then turning Siri back on, but I don't get voice feedback (it's enabled) unless I plug the earbuds into the headphone jack and remove them. Then Siri will speak, but if I leave Siri and do other things, the next time I use Siri there's no voice feedback again. I plug in and unplug and there's voice feedback. Think I have a hardware problem?

I have read dozens of discussions and fixes about Siri not hearing. Some involve taking apart the device, some say it is at Apple. But yours is so simple and it works. I just did that on my phone. It is one of those "why didn't I think of that" moments. Thank You for posting. In case this posting is not in order, the fix was to press the Home button long enough to get Siri and then press the plus button (volume) on the side. Maybe others already tried that, but this first time Iphone owner had to be told. Please hold the smart remarks.
