When charging, my new phone will open and close apps, enter text or numbers, and various other odd things. This is only when I interact with the phone, but it returns to normal when the charger is removed. Has anyone else had a similar issue? If so, have you found a means to resolve it?

HEy i figured out the problem.The problem is with iphone's internal circuitr.The outer casing of the iphone(metallic sides) are the earthing of the internal circuitr.
when we put on a plastic cover,this disconnects use from direct contact with the iphone.This genrally happens when our household electric panels dnt have proper earthing!
so in order to earth the phone our body acts as earth.so when ever your are not in direct contact with the sides of the iphone this problem of screen will occur.
remove any cover or casing and hold the phone in hand and try to use it.there wont be any problem.
P.S: adapter is working fine.
This is crazy but removing the cover worked. I have a soft plastic case and as soon as I take it out and hold the phone, screen problems go away. I don't get it, but it works.
We have ipad 2 v1, iPhone 6 plus and new ipad minis, all plugs old and new behave radical and a employee in our staff happened to purchase a IKEA USB MULTI plug and we can use all the devices while plugged in, no strange behavior like screen sets changing, apps opening and closing, text going out of control while typing or ghost typing scrabbled words,m Here are the details of the plug, IKEA Class 2 USB 3 charger E1405-eu3usb Kopla Output 5 vdc Max load 3400ma Max 2400ma per USB outlet I can plug any apple or third party cable and the crazy syndrome is OVER !!
This happens to my iPad Mini 2, using an original Apple charger, but ONLY if it's connected to the USB port in my car.
I have the UAG case, using an Apple Charger and it was doing the same erratic screen behavior while charging. Granted the charger was on an extension cord and other things are plugged into it... Anyhow the phone out of the case and stopped the crazy behavior. Once I read the post about how the touch screen works I could see that the phone's screen could be improperly grounded when in a plastic case...That can change with relative humidity and how you hold the phone so it would always be reproducible.
I've got the same problem, except I never use any non apple chargers or tiny USB boxes or anything other than the provided charger, never even charged it with chargers at work or friends houses so there's no explanation other than....perhaps they want us to buy more chargers???? Thinking ours are problematic or broken
