In my Airport Utility a read the following message:

This version of AirPort Utility doesn't support this base station. Use AirPort Utility 5.6 to configure or manage this base station. AirPort Utility 5.6 is available at AirPort Service and Support." What do I have to do ?? I can use my airport.

Never had a problem with v.5.6.1 until El Captain. Airport still working but can't change the settings. When I open 'settings' I get a terminal like interface. Have no clue what to type there.

Update: Downloaded Mahler’s most current version and installed. Everything working properly. Warning window stated the newest version was an old version - no so. Thanks to all participants in Apple Support.

I am running Sierra and upon downloading Airport 5.6 I can't install because Sierra is too new!? Any way around this???
