how to turn off vibrate for alarm on iphone 5 ios 6?

with the release of the iphone 5, apple changed the dock connection...so i can no longer use it with my ihome alarm clock without an adapter.

since apple has not yet made available the adapter, i've been using alarm in the clock app to wake-up.

i love that i can set the alarm to a song...but i do not like that it vibrates when the alarm goes.

how do i turn off the vibration for the alarm on my iphone 5 running ios 6?

thanks.

iPhone 5, iOS 6

Turn vibrate off all together in settings, sounds, vibrate off on both ring and silent.

This is ridiculous. None of the solutions proposed here work for me. All I want is disable vibrate on the alarm ONLY. I'd like it to ring AND vibrate without having to change the settings every morning and night, or having to remember to open an alarm app every night. I want to set it and forget it. Is that too much to ask for? Common Apple, my POS Samsung Epic 4g could do this (if only it didn't freeze 10x a day :/).

It's easier than we think. If you don't want your phone to vibrate when your alarm goes off in the Clock app, then all you need to do is go to Settings/Sounds/Ringtones and be sure "Vibration" (at the very top) is set to None.

You can otherwise have vibrate on in any other settings that you want. Only the Ringtone setting is "tied" to the Clock Alarm.

Yep, as I thought, that's why I never went for iPhone. Since it exist I use Android, even in the times I still was Apple fan (now linux), and do not have to deal with such dump problems :/ Now my phone is in repair and got this iPhone 3G from a friend for the time being. What a disgrace! Some things are brilliant, but some things are so dumb that I cannot believe there are actually brilliant choices to! You would think that if you are able to make -some- top-notch interaction choices, why fail on so many others? Yadda-yadda, I know.

Basically for me this one also doesn't work. Every single alarm should have the option to also put vibrate on (or off). Duh! At least it makes people creative trying to hack the bug

The solution that worked for me is just buying an app, its called "sleep cycle" in app store, it has a light orange icon with a clock on it, its quite useful with its main idea, but the important thing it does is that it wakes you up without vibration, which is something i looked for quiet a long time. i know this might be considered as an advertising but anyways this is the only legal option so far!

hope it helps!

Looks like no one had a true solution to the actual question. To still choose a song for the alarm, I have compromised and chosen to turn off Vibrate on Ring, but have enabled Do Not Disturb, so the phone can be left on the normal sound mode while not waking me with text or call tones during the night. It will, however, wake me in the morning with the song and without the insanely annoying buzzing!!

I figure if I'm in a position where I think I won't hear my ringtone during the day, I'll flick the switch to silent mode and vibrate will kick in as normal.

Hey Brian,

The problem with third party alarm clocks is that you have to remember to set them every night. You must start them and keep them running in the foreground in order for them to work. If you forget, or you hit the home, or power key, or if someone calls/texts, or anything else happens during the night that sends those apps to the background they don't go off. Does this sound convenient?
