Ever since I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, the App Store has not been showing updates properly.  Periodically, it will show a badge indicating that there are updates for apps available.  But when I open the App Store, I see this:



If I tap on another tab, like Charts or Featured, and then come back to Updates, it still says all apps are up to date.  I have to force quit the App Store app (double tap Home button, tap and hold on App Store icon then tap the minus sign, then hit the Home button again) and then open it again in order to see this:

A similar thing also happens sometimes when there is no badge, but I decide to go in to the App Store to manually check for an update.  It will show no badge on the Updates tab, and the main screen says all apps are up to date.  But when I force quit App Store, and open it again, it will show updates are available.


Prior to iOS 6, we could tap on the Updates button and it would force a refresh and check for updates again.  That no longer seems to be the case.  That in addition to it intermittently or incorrectly showing updates makes it difficult to know if app updates are actually available.


Is this just my iPhone or is anyone else experiencing something similar?  Either way, does anybody have a solution?

    I have the same problem.

    iPhone 5 on 6.0

    Hopefully a software update will fix this soon.

    Nuts, I was hoping someone might have a simple fix.  But I'm glad to know I'm not crazy or that my iPhone 4S isn't going wonky. 


    I was hoping it would be something Apple could fix on their side without having to push out a software update like they did for some of the other initial iOS 6 App Store bugs, but I will keep my fingers crossed for iOS 6.1.

    Same here, but I have to reset settings in my iPhone 4s setting menu to ensure the update badge appears along with the actual update in App Store. Is this definetly an Apple bug or should I pop into the Genius Bar for repair/replacement? Cheers!

    have you guys found a fix to this?


    My Iphone started doing this yesterday.


    To make things wierder, it's doing it across ALL my IOS devices! 2 iphones and 2 ipads! most on ios 5 and one on ios 6.


    So it seems to have something to do with my itunes account....

    Yesterday mine showed around 39 updates available. Today it is showing none. I didn't update any of them so no clue what's going on. I'm on an iPhone 4 with iOs 5. Looks like  someone at Apple screwed the pooch on this one.

    My iPad was showing more than 20 app updates 2 days ago...since yesterday the App Store tells me all my apps are up to date even though I can see that certain apps from the top charts has the Update button....

    Just got the same error on my 4s (forced updated to iOS6 by Apple) since today.

    iOS 6 is the worst cr*p Apple has ever rolled out.

    Instead of introducing new bugs they should finally fix the old ones that are still in.

    Wish I had iOS 5.1.1 back.

    No updates showing for three idevices over two separate Apple IDs. But if I search and find some of the apps I have on the devices in the app store I can see they have updates and actually install them. This happened over the last couple of days. I am guessing it is a problem on the appstore side.

    Yep I've now hit the same problem as well across my iPhone, iPad, and Macbook Pro. Yesterday all were showing updates were available for multiple apps. Today my devices claim wrongly that all of my apps are up to date. I've tried signing out and back into my iTunes account on the laptop but no joy. What's up Apple?

    Reset the device by holding power and home at same time. Until apple logo apperars. Then try it.


    A second way is signing out of app store from settings and sign back in.

    The problem isn't with the device, it's with the ap store. Even when I go via iTunes on my computer it says there are no updates for my device when in fact there are over 40 at the moment. Resetting device, logging out and back in, none of those work because it's something Apple has screwed up with the store.

    and if it did, it wouldnt explain why it does it across all my devices either....
