New Lightning Adapter is Useless with Cases

I finally received my lightning adapter yesterday and was looking forward to using it in my car and work. Little was I to know that if you have any kind of case on your phone to protect it, the adapter will not work properly. You have to remove the case which IMO is unacceptable. Apple should have researched/thought about this prior to making the adapter.

If I were you I would save my money for now and see if Apple or 3rd parties work this issue out. The connector needs to be longer so that it can reach the phone with a case installed. What iPhone user doesn't have a case to protect their investment, even a cheap case won't allow the plug to connect.

iPhone 5, Windows 7

Shown off yes. We all know that 3rd party's were given the specs of the phone or they couldn't have made cases that fit perfectly prior to launch. Say they didn't and you're wrong. So why didn't Apple give them the specs of the adapter? Answer that one genius. You can't mass produce an item without specs or having your hands on it.

The Adapter was shown off, just like that, during the Keynote. The case manufacturer's took it upon themselves to design some cases without compatibility.

Bogus argument. By the time of the Keynote the design processes were complete for virtually all third party cases and many were already well into the production phase.

Everything was rumor before the Keynote. Case manufacturers had nothing but rumor and hearsay.

So, OtterBox found out the physical dimensions of the iPhone 5 on Sept 12 and had a competed case with speciallized packaging they shipped to my wife on Sept 24th? I gotta buy stock in that company! They are miracle workers!

You purchased the wrong case! That's not Apple's fault and they gave you a charging cord with your purchase but now you want them to include a free adapter too? Once that happens they will up the retail cost of the iPhone and people will be on here complaining of the injustices Apple has perpetrated upon them.
