Ok so now that I'm home and back at my ipad I just wanted to keep everyone up to speed. Again I apoligize to all of you for telling you not to restore your devices (who am I to tell you haha). But I was really trying to help all of you out and prevent any headaches that come with restoring your device. You NEVER know if something is bound to go wrong in the restoration process and the chance you may not be able to recover everything and not be able to restore your device just the way it was when you backed it up. I was trying to prevent that for all of you after I spoke with the Apple Advisor, so again I apologize to all of you if I wasted your time. Like I said, I lost patience and still (as of 5:22 pm Eastern Time) HAVE NOT received a call back from apple regarding this issue. If and when they do I will let you all know. As far as my iPad goes, everything is completely downloaded and back EXACTLY the way it was before. Yes it's a pain in the butt having to go into settings and get all the little settings just right to your liking (i.e. autofill on safari, sound effects, imessage settings, volumes, wallpapers, and on and on you know the drill). I really don't like the fact that I had to go ahead and do this to my device considering the advisor from Apple specifically told me that it wasn't a problem with my device and the problem was on Apple's end. So I know the title says in BIG LETTERS NOT TO RESTORE YOUR DEVICE, but I take that back and will state that if you want to have your device working properly and be able to access the most amazing App Store in the world then you MUST RESTORE YOUR DEVICE. No need to hook it up to your computer. Just back it up one more time to the cloud and go to settings and reset all content and settings. Then boot up your device and restore it from your back up. I DID NOT restore it as a new device. This process on the iPad 3 took me about 15 minutes at most and was extremely quick. Now this may vary depending on what device you are using of course but I can't imagine it would take more than 30 minutes regardless of what device you are using. The only part again that ***** is having to download your apps again. Remember this will vary from people and your device of course and the more apps the longer it will take to download obviously. It took maybe 2 hours to download everything for me as I have quite a few apps and large games. I suggest just leaving your ipad hooked up to charger and make sure you wifi is working and just leave it and go do something to pass the time and come back to it. Then the only thing you have to do from that point is go through your settings and put everything back to your liking.
Again, my apologies to all of you, like I said I was trying to save people any unecessary problems that can occure in the restoration process. I wasn't trying to be a hero and brag that I found out the solution to the problem (although I did feel special knowing that I got that leaked information from apple on the phone because I lied haha). So please, do what you like, you can wait it out and see what happens from this point. Or, you can go ahead and restore your device even though I completely agree with you all and think that it is insane we should have to do this. And to the person that would rather have the Android tablet, I will tell you that I would rather have a little speed bump like this than ever use and android tablet again. I LOVE MY iPad, love it love it love it. My wife and I have a fairly new PC and NEVER use it. And don't think you are not going to get these problems on an Android Device, just my two cents. So anywho, I'm done rambling, I just get carried away typing on my Zagg keyboard for my ipad lol. I will post once again once I get a call from Apple, they may be upset with me that I gave that info out on the forums and basically told them that I had lied about restoring my device haha. Take care all....and good luck. I will be intersted to know if those of you whom have not restored there devices if the App Store starts working again. Remember, we are all Apple users and we need to communicate with eachother to help eachother out. Someday it could be you that runs into another problem and need someone in the apple community to help you out, so be nice and we can all work together to figure this stuff out! Good luck everyone!
