App Store Not Loading READ HERE!! DO NOT RESTORE YOUR DEVICE!!

Ok Applecare Senior Advisor Tad just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss. He said it should only be a 24 hour or so problem then everything should be up and running again. i have two new ipads and 2 iphone 4's and everythng works fine but my ipad (figures). They are actually going to be calling me tomorrow to follow up on the issue. I will let everyone know if I hear more!

Ok we'll I know you are all going to kill me but I could not wait any longer for apple to call me, I want to use my App Store just as bad as all of you! I reset all data and restores my iPad and everything works perfectly. I apogize to the entire apple community for telling everyone not to restore. I was trying to save everyone time and possible headaches while doing the restore. So let the butchering begin, and again my apologies to all of you!

Steve - thanks for the info. Have been having issues like everyone else. What I find funnily is the fact that I am not experiencing theses same issues on my iPhone. Everything is working in AppStore. But then again - stranger things have happened. And my daughter is in IT and has been investigating and recommended the same thing - to NOT factory restore. Thank goodness this is the same as what apple is stating.

What I will also tell you is it is hit and miss. I have been attempting to download two apps all day long and one finally did come thru and download. Still do not have the second one but will be patient.

As for everyone else - patience seems to be the answer. Yes we ARE dealing with computers but as my IT daughter continually reminds me is that these things ARE programmed by humans and the boxes (what my daughter refers to as servers) are built, installed and maintained by humans as well. Then we are also talking about electricity (controlled by humans) etc.

Ok so now that I'm home and back at my ipad I just wanted to keep everyone up to speed. Again I apoligize to all of you for telling you not to restore your devices (who am I to tell you haha). But I was really trying to help all of you out and prevent any headaches that come with restoring your device. You NEVER know if something is bound to go wrong in the restoration process and the chance you may not be able to recover everything and not be able to restore your device just the way it was when you backed it up. I was trying to prevent that for all of you after I spoke with the Apple Advisor, so again I apologize to all of you if I wasted your time. Like I said, I lost patience and still (as of 5:22 pm Eastern Time) HAVE NOT received a call back from apple regarding this issue. If and when they do I will let you all know. As far as my iPad goes, everything is completely downloaded and back EXACTLY the way it was before. Yes it's a pain in the butt having to go into settings and get all the little settings just right to your liking (i.e. autofill on safari, sound effects, imessage settings, volumes, wallpapers, and on and on you know the drill). I really don't like the fact that I had to go ahead and do this to my device considering the advisor from Apple specifically told me that it wasn't a problem with my device and the problem was on Apple's end. So I know the title says in BIG LETTERS NOT TO RESTORE YOUR DEVICE, but I take that back and will state that if you want to have your device working properly and be able to access the most amazing App Store in the world then you MUST RESTORE YOUR DEVICE. No need to hook it up to your computer. Just back it up one more time to the cloud and go to settings and reset all content and settings. Then boot up your device and restore it from your back up. I DID NOT restore it as a new device. This process on the iPad 3 took me about 15 minutes at most and was extremely quick. Now this may vary depending on what device you are using of course but I can't imagine it would take more than 30 minutes regardless of what device you are using. The only part again that ***** is having to download your apps again. Remember this will vary from people and your device of course and the more apps the longer it will take to download obviously. It took maybe 2 hours to download everything for me as I have quite a few apps and large games. I suggest just leaving your ipad hooked up to charger and make sure you wifi is working and just leave it and go do something to pass the time and come back to it. Then the only thing you have to do from that point is go through your settings and put everything back to your liking.

Again, my apologies to all of you, like I said I was trying to save people any unecessary problems that can occure in the restoration process. I wasn't trying to be a hero and brag that I found out the solution to the problem (although I did feel special knowing that I got that leaked information from apple on the phone because I lied haha). So please, do what you like, you can wait it out and see what happens from this point. Or, you can go ahead and restore your device even though I completely agree with you all and think that it is insane we should have to do this. And to the person that would rather have the Android tablet, I will tell you that I would rather have a little speed bump like this than ever use and android tablet again. I LOVE MY iPad, love it love it love it. My wife and I have a fairly new PC and NEVER use it. And don't think you are not going to get these problems on an Android Device, just my two cents. So anywho, I'm done rambling, I just get carried away typing on my Zagg keyboard for my ipad lol. I will post once again once I get a call from Apple, they may be upset with me that I gave that info out on the forums and basically told them that I had lied about restoring my device haha. Take care all....and good luck. I will be intersted to know if those of you whom have not restored there devices if the App Store starts working again. Remember, we are all Apple users and we need to communicate with eachother to help eachother out. Someday it could be you that runs into another problem and need someone in the apple community to help you out, so be nice and we can all work together to figure this stuff out! Good luck everyone!

Ok well Applecare finally called me. I told them I did another restoration (even though I really never did it originally) and that everything was working fine now. He basically didn't tell me much from then on. He said that if it wasn't fixed up till this point that they would ask me to send it in to get repaired. He said it is a bug that is hit or miss. So basically it seems to me they don't know what is causing it and the only way to fix it is by doing a restoration. He didn't tell me if they were working on a solution or anything, so if you are on the fence about restoring I would just go ahead and do it. I know it ***** but unfortunately is seems like, well what he called it "a glitch" that currently apple has no fix for. Sorry to bring the bad news, however he DID NOT tell me they WERE NOT working on a fix for it, but yesterday he said it would take about 24 hours so if your device is still not loading then I would say that the restoration is your best bet. I did ask him if they found a fix for it before I hung up with him and he said they are trying to pinpoint it but it's really just a glitch that hey can't seem to find out what is causing it. I didn't ask him what happened about the 24 hour time he said it would take for apple to fix the problem with the App Store. So, good luck to everyone, it seems a lot of restoring will be occuring unfortunately. Boy what an idiot I feel like...as the title says do not restore your device, how wrong was I haha! it should now say: RESTORE YOUR DEVICE BECAUSE IT'S A GLITCH THAT APPLE HAS YET TO PINPOINT AND IS REALLY HIT OR MISS. Good luck to everyone and keep posted if you are still having problems still even after you restore.
