For Windows users, there's really no need to do all of this file copying/creating folders business. I found a great Windows app that reads and sync's iTunes library beautifully. It's called Double Twist. It looks and acts just like iTunes but it can sync to any device wirelessly. A brilliant feature. It can also automatically sync whenever your device is on the same network (like when you get home). The Double Twist mobile app is also a really great playback app with tons of features.

It is very easy to transfer music between different OS. Such as transferring music from iTunes to Android.

The steps to do it is very simple.

You just need to download Phone Transfer, connect Android to computer, and choose whatever music you want to transfer on your own.

Here is a similar question: how to transfer music from my Samsung Glaxy Note3 to my iphone

I know this is an older post, but it looks like it has been active recently.

If you have an Android phone, then you will have an active Google or Gmail account. For me, the easiest/most automated way to transfer music from iTunes to my phone is to use Google Play. It will sync all of your music from your computer, through the cloud, to all of your devices. (Samsung SIII, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (x2) for me.)

Open Google Play in a Chrome browser on your desktop.

Login to your Gmail/Google account.

Go in and tell it to automatically upload all of the music that it finds in certain folders. Include the iTunes Music folder

Whenever you open Google Play on the computer. it will automatically upload all of the music it finds on your computer in the folders that you indicated. Any iTunes purchases show up right away in Android.

You can either play them from the cloud in Google Play on your phone, or check "Download to Phone" in Google Play to download them to your device.

Google Play will also upload and store up to 50,000 songs that you already own. Ones that you have copied from your CD's, etc. Just point it to teh right directory.

If you have an SD card in your phone - highly recommended - you can set the features in Google Play on the phone to store your music to the SD. I have a 32GB SD in my phone.

I also have a library of about 100 audio books in MP3 format. You can either include those in Google Play, as mentioned above. Or just drag and drop the whole folder to a new location on the Android phone - "Audio Books" - and then include that in the "Folders" option for your phone's player.

I actually use a different, free audio player just for the audio books, so that they aren't mixed in with my music. I open Google Play for music, and the other player for books. I told the other player to only look in that one "Audio Books" folder, and "selected" teh Music folder, etc.. Works well!

I used to have an iPhone. Having to use iTunes to back it up and sync it with my library was the worst part of owning it. I wish that we could do everything through the cloud instead of using iTunes, like you can with Google. (In Android, if you get a new phone or tablet, and you can restore everything from your old phone/tablet right on the set up screen, through the cloud. I lent my mom a Nexus 7 tablet for a month in Florida. I just restaged it to get a fresh install for her. Then I will restage it again to reload everything I had on it again when I get it back)

Good luck! Cheers.

The basic way of transferring music is by manually copying your iTunes music files into a temporary folder on your PC. Then, connect your galaxy s3 to the computer using a USB cable and open your phone’s music folder. From there, you can then transfer your music files from the computer to your phone’s music folder. If you find the iTunes-folder-galaxy s3 combo inconvenient, you can use moblie transfer to instantly transfer music from iTunes to galaxy s3.
