AppleTV Not showing in iTunes Devices

HI, I have a new Apple TV. The software is updated. I have an iMac OS 10.6.8, ITunes is 10.7. My Apple TV does not show in devices. However, everything else is working. I can play content from my iMac I just need to put content on the AppleTV so I can use it at a trade show. I have tried the trouble shooting guides, and I cannot figure it out. The instructions said to change ITunes preference to allow Apple TV, but I do not have that option...I think that is where the wheels started falling off the cart!!

That is purely for caching streamed content. There is no accessible hard drive and the device is advertised as streaming only. Best to research ahead

Even your link says the 8GB is to act as a buffer during streaming.

You have a 1st gen, which has a hard drive.This thread has been about the newer models, which are streaming only

On my way to get a new HDMI cable now for the black one. I guess that's why its smaller! lol

Try unplugging the power cord to your apple TV while leaving the micro usb plugged in to both your apple tv and computer. Worked for me.
