Macbook pro retina flicker

Dear Support,

I bought a Macbook pro retina recently, and now the screen keeps flickering, and is very annoying.

I am not sure how to reproduce it, when it happens, it will have horizontal lines cutting across the screen very quickly and disappear.

It happens randomly across all application.

It is the same as,

I have updated all patches, and still doesn't help.

Could you please advice how to fix it? Do i have to send it back?

Does someone had the problem solved? I am no longer under warranty and the price to replace the motherboard is very high in Brazil. Also, seem that this does not solve the problem.

I feel for you....

The only thing that worked for me is to have both MB and screen replaced... This was done while the device was still under warranty..

I just bought an IMac, and subscribed to Photoshop CC. Has anyone figured out why the screen flickers? This is four years after the original post about this!

same problem but only when the Macbook gets cold when its hot the problem is gone !! get a hairdryer and make the retina screen warm at the bot where its connected to the blowers and it goes away

Having the same issue. Send first back within 14 days received a new one and guess what..... the same problem

I confirm that 10.12.5 fixes the issue.

Ran the 10.12.5 update last night... happy to report that so far, no more flickering here!!
