cannot connect to the Mac App Store

Like the subject line says, I can't connect to the Mac App Store. I am using a 2009 mac mini running 10.7.5. I was running 10.7.4 when I noticed the problem, but ran software update and updated to 10.7.5. Didn't fix the problem. I also tried turning off Firewall and booting in Safe Mode. Tried signing out and signing back in again, but, of course, since I can't connect, all that did was sign me out. Nothing works. Attempting to sign in just gets a red "connection failed" and blanks out my password field. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx for your interest...

To reply your remark, I would say yes and no, my regret is more about the "susceptibility" of the system.

At the end, I should be able to use the software I bought even if I am disconnected from the AppStore... and for whatever reason - that is the point, whatever reason : at the end, for hours my software was just locked down by the Mac AppStore. That is just a simple fact.

For example, maybe could one think that without authentication, the MAP should maybe not lock your software ? especially if you enter a dozen times your correct #ids in the login window, well recognized by iTunes and all the rest... for example 😉

Anyway, I didn't want to launch a troll in there 🙂 , just consider it as a thought, of course we cannot blame Apple for everything... If this kind of keywords could fly up to Cupertino, who knows...

If the soundflower trick can help anyone, who knows, that's the important thing : it's not an issue for you, but it saved my day...
