Apple screws Ipad 3 customers with iPad 4

I purchased iPad 3 two months ago. Now iPad 4 is out and twice as fast. I just wasted 729 dollars? IS nothing going to be done for the loyal apple customers who believed our expensive purchase wouldn't be obsolete in two months? THIS HAS NEVER been apples policy in past to upgrade before a year. Very disappointed

What kind of a reply is this, why would I want to buy a refurbished product , what the ****...

Look I did my research, I went to apple's web page, how much research do you want me to do, need the consumer have to read into essays etc... Not sure what research you want us to do....

Nothing was said on the website, apple has only just let us know.... It was never made open to us all....

Look at the end of the day it's done, no use crying over split milk.... I'm happy with ipad 3, I have all the apple devices and I'm happy with all of them, I'm just a bit unhappy as I would of brought the ipad 4 as I've just got the ipad 3.

As for the insult about just looking for the word new ... GROW UP!!! I don't care how much you want to let us all know about how much you know about apple, it's really sad that you seem to know so much yet don't work for apple....GET A JOB THERE..if not already....


I think we all know that there's diffrent types of ipad and they have model numbers etc lol... My my what next lol...

I really didn't think I have to drop to the level of of someone trying to tell me there's diffrent iPads ...omg....

Seriously, if you knew exactly what you were buying then quite whining. If you are unhappy that Apple extended the return policy to 30 days - instead of how ever long they would need to extend it to so that you could exchange it for a iPad 4 - then stop buying high tech products from every manufacture as guess what, All manufactures refresh product from time to time, this is not new, and there are no guarantees when this will happen, and manufactures don't have to make life easy for you and tell about their plans ahead of time. It's like the high tech version of musical chairs. Everyone takes the same chances as you do. That's life. At least Apple has a program that protects those that purchased something within 30 days. It's the same thing as if you bought a new computer and then a few weeks later Apple releases a new version of OS X. Apple will give you a free copy of that new version. If you're so fragile that when high tech companies seemingly randomly refresh products, then just don't buy high tech products, because as it has been said many times before, it will happen again at some time.

Mate what is it your trying to teach me, because I don't care, your opinion is yours, I did put no need crying over split milk, one to try to shut you up and other because there's nothing I can do so I've got over it... I think maybe you need to calm down and see that people have there own opinion , and I'll say again so you may here me this time, the option of the ipad 4 was not available at the time I purchased my ipad... I hope it happens to you!.

I'm not interested in anything more you have to say as your so up yourself , so please don't reply to this there's no need to carry this on, most people on here are fed up with you, doesn't this tell you something.... Or you still not getting it..

Legally Apple did nothing wrong, morally they screwed over a lot of loyal customers. They refreshed the product line far too soon, and removed the 3rd gen iPad from the product line all-together which somehow points to the fact that the 3rd gen iPad was inferior quality than other models. The fact that I can buy a 2nd gen iPad on Apples website but not a 3rd gen iPad confirms this. If it were a regular product refresh then the 3rd gen iPad would have replaced the 2nd gen iPad on the Apple online store, you know this as well as everyone else does.


I think the point you are trying to make (which you could have done without being so condescending and irritating) is that Apple didn't force anyone to buy the 3rd gen iPad. Everyone who bought it was happy with it at some stage (or they would have returned it) so we should all just enjoy the product we purchased without worrying about what newer models are now available.


The 3rd gen iPad is still a beast of a machine, enjoy it. I know I am.

Morally? Apple would have been morally wrong if they didn't refresh the iPad when they did. You do not know all of the facts. Sometimes things aren't so black and white.

Which somehow points? It's nice to see that you're not so sure of yourself. You do understand that new product is supposed to be better than what it replaces don't you? Shame on Apple for coming out with a better product in the iPad 4. Apple you need to listen to bdubz87 and make sure that the iPad 5 is worse than the iPad 4, or according to him you made a mistake. I know you're oblivious to this fact but the iPad 3 cost MORE to produce than the iPad 2. There are MANY reasons why but just one is the screen. The Retina screen cost much more than the screen in the iPad 2, and now the Retina screen will cost Appple 20% more than before. But hey, how dare Apple try to make some profit in the lower cost tablet market, eh? It must be nice to be able to cherry pick whatever facts you want to believe in, and not address the rest of the facts of a matter.

Legally, they done wrong. Until the last day they advertised that product was "New iPad", a form of false advertisement. Last time I posted this and said that people should act against Apple instead of complaining and my post got deleted. Lets see if it lasts now.

Oh, and MyMac8MyPC you sound like a very loyal customer. I assume you are not employee solely on the fact that you got PC in your name :). But you have a point to an extent

Not at all. The iPad was replaced by the iPad4. It is as simple as that. Offered at the same price, would you have purchased the iPad 3 or the iPad 4? There you go, you answered your own question. This is neither the first, not the last, time that Apple has discontinued a product.

Thank you but for me it's more about truth than being loyal. When companies have done something wrong I have spoken up about it, even filed class action lawsuits at times, but when a company (in this case Apple) has done nothing wrong, and people try to say they did (by making a mountain out of a molehill) that is not cool either. All companies make mistakes, but when a company gets to be as big and popular as Apple is, some people (we'll call them whiners) seem to think that if they can just whine loud enough that they'll be able to get freebies, and then they wonder why Apples products cost a premium. Not one whiner that has been in this thread has ever been able to prove that Apple has done anything wrong by releasing new product. That's obviously why Apple has ignored their whining.
