Apple screws Ipad 3 customers with iPad 4

I purchased iPad 3 two months ago. Now iPad 4 is out and twice as fast. I just wasted 729 dollars? IS nothing going to be done for the loyal apple customers who believed our expensive purchase wouldn't be obsolete in two months? THIS HAS NEVER been apples policy in past to upgrade before a year. Very disappointed

maybe ipad3 is the last product i purchase from Apple. since Apple now like Nokia & Samsung. craving for new product but minorrrrrrrrrrrrr updates!

Fine, I understand the update of iPad was needed to compete with upcoming Microsoft Surface and Android Nexus 10. But are you really in such a big rush to get rid of ALL your iPad 3 stock now, by unloading them as refurb for $374. This is like rubbing salt to iPad 3 owners wounds, and double make sure the resale vale of iPad 3 pommets to the lowest possible point. I don't think you'll have problem selling the iPad 3 in December for $379. You could have given us a month to sell our iPad 3 for around $400 and buy your iPad 4 or iPad mini in the month of November. But no, you chose to "get rid" of the iPad 3 like they are a shame. Very disappointed with you, Apple.

Google nexus 7 - 16 GB $250 - upgrade to new version next day = no problem( dam , it is quardcore)

Kindle fire - $199 - upgrade to new version next day = no problem

New ipad -$ 500+ tax 50 - upgrade after one and half month , now it is absolutely out of date= big problem , hey, apple I don't have rich daddy like you! I feel very unfair!!!!!!! Refund the money you overcharged me , give me back my $250!

I will never prefer apple products again, apple stink!

I'm really sorry, but I don't get it guys. Oh no a company that is cutting edge and trendy released a new product!! How inconsiderate of them???? I just bough my iPad 3 literally 1 month ago. It works great, has no issues and does everything I want it to do. I own the 2nd best tablet on the market hands down... Whats all the hate and frustration for? Do you expect the makers of these products to go on sebatical just so us iPad users can say we have the lastest and greatest for a full year? You love Apple because of its simple and intuitive design, but also because of its cutting edge industry leading innovation. So why would you be upset they the once again innovated and created something new and even more amazing then before? I have the iPad 1. I wasn't upset when the 2 came out, I was excited to see where they can take this technology from here. I waited and then got the "New Ipad." It is amazing. Why so much hatred of a technology company creating newer and better technology!! You still have an absolutely amazing product!

Look at Samsung and the competition. How many times have they revamped there entire line up this year alone? 6 or 7 times, and they are still behind the benchmark that your "obsolete" iPad set.

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents worth. I'm not calling the store to beg for an upgrade... I'm sending Apple an email to thank them for an amazing product.

kano237,

True dear. i know the technology updates, the profit margin of big company, te latest products etc. i am aware all of these. but, if apple unveil about ipad4 early, absolutely customer will wait for the latest update rather than bought a day before it launch (example: me).

the issue is: apple only brag about mini ipad. not the 4th ipad. they keep silencing abt new upgrade of ipad until yesterday.

Ok i get it you are an Apple fan boy, and in your eyes Apple can do no wrong. No I put up with the hall iPhone 4 Antenna issue and I don’t mind that the black iPhone 5 can scratch without much effort or that there new maps app is not up to speed but this I pad fiasco is the last draw. And from all the post I am not the only one that’s not madd as ****

1mper1us... Please stifle your rage and more importantly your ignorance. I am 30 years old. My father passed away when I was 14. I have my own job, my own house, my own car, and I'm a single father. Buying a new iPad was something I had to plan for and put money aside for. Which is why I bought mine nearly 6 months after it was realeased and not the day it came out. You have all answered your own question. You realize profit margins, you realize new technology is coming out. Why would any smart company disclose when new products are few months away when they know that there sales will suffer until then? That's just poor business. They didn't brag about any of the new products coming out. It was through leaks of information and rumor mills that anything was found out at all.

Further more, as far as the Apple fan boy comment. My phone is a Droid Razr Maxx. My computer is a PC that I built myself. My tablet is however an Apple. I suppose if that qualifies, then you sir, are twice the fan boy I ever was. 🙂

I also feel a bit ripped off. After buying every iPad on launch day and now seven months later to have a new one come without any warning I do feel like I to was screwed. A few months back when they released the mountain lion update any Mac that was 18 months or older didn't get many new features like AirPlay mirroring and power nap just to name a few. I understand technology evolves quick, but give us loyal customers an option to upgrade or trade in our iPad 3s at least that would be easier to swallow. Man of us of do use are hard earned money to get these products and apple should treat us with a little more respect.

I agree. Nothing is wrong with a great company that continues to make quality products for us. The problem is that we all now feel that the ipad 3 was not quite finished obviously. We purchased a very expensive beta version. It has overheating issues and connectivity issues. The fact that Apple discontinued it is an obvious red flag. They are fully aware it is a dud. They don't even want to bother selling the rest of the stock the Apple stores carry. The original ipad was a revelation. Changed people's everyday computer use drastically. The ipad 2 improved by adding front and rear cameras as well as better display and speed. The "3" improved even more with new processor, retina display, and better cameras. But the 4? Integrated only what should have been done to the 3, 8 months ago, before it was released. The connector and the processor. The A5X is junk. I love apple. I have owned 9 iPods, 4 iPhones, 3 iPads, a Macbook, and an Apple TV. That's roughly 4800 in hardware. Not to mention the multiple accessories purchased for every single device. Will I stop purchasing Apple? Who knows. I'm disappointed. And the Billion dollars they just made in the law suit against Samsung may be a wash if they can calculate how many customers will be handing money to the competitor rather than Apple. I would just like some sort of a compromise. Just something showing they care. . . . . just a little.
