Apple screws Ipad 3 customers with iPad 4

I purchased iPad 3 two months ago. Now iPad 4 is out and twice as fast. I just wasted 729 dollars? IS nothing going to be done for the loyal apple customers who believed our expensive purchase wouldn't be obsolete in two months? THIS HAS NEVER been apples policy in past to upgrade before a year. Very disappointed

Ive not spoke to them as yet,

Yeah that's not true the frequencies the ipad 3 use are never likely to be used in the uk as they are still used for 2g and some 3g Therefore it will be a massive challenge to change that fact taken years of court proceedings with the other uk networks etc. what is for definite it will never work on orange everything everywhere 4g network.

It also does not change the fact on launch day the product was not capable of what they said it was! the ASA would not be investigating if they felt nothing was wrong, Try another store you might have more luck go in and ask for a manager and explain it and you never know they might do it.

One thing is for sure they will not officially announce anything because they do not want a mass of returns but they may do it on the quiet.

We was miss sold the ipad 3 in the uk with regards to the 4G,we was told the ipad 3 was future proof as regards to this. Little did we know that future proof was only for 6 months..The retailers have been screwed big time too i would imagine after this..People will no longer want to buy apple products from them as they dont get the same cover as you would buying from apple direct..They was probably told the same that the 4G is future proof..Well i guess the tables will be turned for apple now, if apple are able to sue left right and centre then its time to bite the apple back.WE WAS MISSOLD THE IPAD 3..Now face up to youre wrong doings and at least speak to youre bread and butter ie.the consumer...

Yep you are right Wayne. I for one will never buy from an apple product from a retailer again after this. I bought my iPad 3 3 days ago and have done everything to try and get my money back. I've spoken to the manager, the general manager. They've assured me something will be done but it will probably be a case of them scrubbing off a bit from the price I paid for it. I doubt they will refund my money. I'm confused why the iPad 3 is being taken off the market. Why? Why are they making the iPad 3 obsolete. Apple has a lot of explaining to do!

Can i just point some thing out to those people n journalists all over the net that are under the impression were upset because apple moved on in technolagy ,this is not the case. Were upset because we bought some thing that was not as advertised. So before all the do gooders come on and slate us for it ,do youre home work first before slagging our posts off & calling us wingers...

I bought the iPad 3 six weeks ago and it's discontinued? While iPad 2 is still in the market? I am really angry at this decision. Since I am out of the 30 day window no free replacements or returns for me.

I usually cycle Apple products every year. By dicontinuing IPad 3 they destroyed the resale value for the product. Also if I buy iPad 4 no are they goign to introduce iPad 4s in the Spring?

They are only hurting themselves in the foot by changign the product cycle.

Agree! This is very disappointing. Bought it 6 mo ago thinking the release cycle is at least 12 mo (which has been almost 100% true). I had 1st gen, 2nd and 3rd gen iPad. As a developer, I always keep up with the technology, but Apple is definitely screw me up before I would have waited before the speed is double!

Now I am screwed and so is everyone getting the iPad 3, I am sure we all will think twice before buying Apple products.

Yes Dimme you are extremely lucky..My ipad wont ever work on the 4G network in the uk along with many other countries, but was not told this...I have the the cellular 64GB version and paid extra £100 for this option in the knowledge that it would be future proof in that sense. Its rolling out now in this country and no doubt it will replace 3G in the near future..This is many peoples gripes so maybe if we get a refund on this option alone as its been missold then it may make many people happy..Apple products hold their prices even at 2nd hand value and for apple to drop the ipad 3rd gen totaly has hit people hard in their pockets come upgrade time and especialy in these unstable economic times every penny counts..The thing is theyre selling the ipad 2 still thats 18 month old and drops the ipad 3 ,im no buisness man but that dont make any sense.Or as many have said was the not so new ipad a beta product that failed with many flawes that it has and apple decided to cut it short to save face at the expense of their loyal fans and followers..Who knows but were not getting any response from the horses mouth as yet, parden the pun but theyve really upset the apple cart on this one..

I am another ANGRY customer from Hong Kong. After 2 years with my iPad1 which become much slowly and incapable to simply see websites, I bought "the new iPad" from retailer on Oct 4. But my "new" iPad becomes old in merely 19 days and exceeded the Apple guarantee of 14 days and more fxxxing insensible the 14days guarantee doesn't cover the same **** product we bought from a retailer.

Apple, Tim Cook, you are **** ridiculous and make loyal customers furious!!

I want a full refund!! And the new iPad though...

I bought the iPad 3 late June and fell in love with it.

I use it 24/7 as a audio engineer student it has changed the way my industry and school does things.

I was part of this new leap forward in change in the industry, now 4 months later a whole new product that’s twice as fast for the same price is released and places y iPad out of date. Now that there is the lighting connector all new gear will be made and my “ The New iPad” will not work with any of these things. I am rather upset by this move by apple. I understand cutting overhead and cost so , I know why you did it. I have a solution offer a trade back program. Just an even swap. Some of us my even go for a higher capacity mini I would . This might seem like a radical idea and a heavy cost on your end ,but having happy and pleasant costumers i believe will out weighs the initial cost , but the long time investment you have with us will be worth more as we will continue to buy exclusive from you.
