Hello Folks. Igo to a news site, then a drop down: cannot verify certificate "static.ak.facebook.com" could put information at risk; connect anyway? --But It happens at several sites. I do not do facebook.
Any thoughts or information from anyone, I hope?
No solution, but I'm having the exact same issue - just started tonight. I did run some updates today... possible connection? Let me know if you find a fix!
I have the same problem, started tonight same as you, only updates I did recently were some kind of Java but not tonight. I did sync my ipad with new ibook and such but nothing else. What gives this is annoying, I have cleaned my cookies and settings but still pops even after a reboot and sucn.

Just started having this problem also today. Can't find any settings which may have changed. Guess I'm not the only one with the problem. I also do not use Facebook.
Hmmm. I had my latest update about four days ago, and it began about ten minutes before I posted.
So- it is something in the certificates I will guess.
OR a giant web-wide redirect is happening. I clicked on 'show certificate' and it says it is a company called akamai....maybe it is cyber war starting?
yikes... You please report back anything you learn also, and I will if I learn anything new.

Yes very strange we are all seeing this, some with no updates today, some who do not even use facebook. At least it is not just my machine, I thought that I had been specifically hacked, this is weird...
There is a problem with their certificate. it should hopefully be resolved soon.
I looked up akamai and it says it is a web content delivery company... Perhaps the company forgot to renew their certificate? Or someone jammed them up? The site said iif you have web shopped, you have used their product...

Yes I also worried it was just a personal attack on my Mac, still annoying though. The date on certificate is 2013. I even deleted it out of keychain and it still comes up, so not sure where it is running from????
same issue on my MBP and iPhone 4s, all running latest software. Anyone try running antivirus to see if it worked?

Well, if I figure it right, safari checks certificates of a site as logging or you know, going to a site...
If cert is old bad or what, depending on how we have preferences set, we are warned, like this.
So- oh who was it that said THEY are having certificate issues- if that is the case, it is a mere annoyance. I just was hitting cancel and the desired page remained. I did not get experimental and click "continue"- fearing a different page would load...

I've experienced the same thing starting today. There are only a few sites that I visit that this doesn't pop up......I use Chrome and it's a non issue......
