Yep IOS 6.1 is a bettery killer on my iphone 4. SW validation on older models is a low priority. Justification is driving people to upgrade to the latest model (iphone 5)?🙂 The release notes mentioned improvements on LTE support which means they have tweeked the RF SW and that is the likely culprit. Very amature job on this release. Seems to be a pattern forming. Where is the disipline Apple?

I just upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1 and NOT 6.0.1.

Last night I made sure there was no running apps, closed everything, no ego location services, charged to 100%.

This morning, after 7 hours of sleep, it's dead.

I can't even use it as an alarm clock!

I have had many iPhones, from the first to this 5th generation but never experienced such a bad battery life.

There hasty be an update soon.

I have iphone 4s , one and a half year old, never experienced any battery problem even when I updated OTA everytime a new ios released. this time updating from 6.0.1 to 6.1 caused severe battery drain goin from 100% to 4 % over 19 hours 36 min of standby , 6 hours 49 min usage.6.0.1 i get 2days standby and 13ours usage, no new apps installed, same settings , tried to turn off location service for all apps, deleted gmail app, restore many times from itunes, clean install, hardreset, reset network, reset all settings, nothing worked, any suggestion beside trying a new battery?? maybe it is ios caused !

My Iphone 5 is not working as wonderfully previous to this 6.1 update. The battery is draining very fast using LTE and even Wifi or doing nothing by night with airplane mode. I also suspect that usage statistics doesn't work as before that it really showed my use. It is impossible that I have 17h 48 minutes of standby and 13h 30 minutes of usage in 19 hours!!! My battery is now at 1%. Previously to this update I was really at standby for more than 2 days... I want to recover my Iphone before this awful update!

iOS 6.1 killed my iPhone 4S battery life. On 6.0 I was around 50% after a day of light use. With 6.1, it was down to less than 10% with the same usage pattern.

I've found my problem is fixed by disabling push email/contacts/calendar. Having switched it to fetch every 30 minutes (and without changing anything else), I'm back to 50% at the end of the day.

I'm pretty sure that I had push disabled before, so it seems like the OTA 6.1 upgrade enabled it without telling me.

I have gmail email and iCloud enabled for everything else. I guess this tallies with other reports that iCloud may be to blame.

Can anyone else confirm whether push email has been enabled by the upgrade, or that disabling it fixes the battery issue?
