I use iPhone 4 with ios 5.1.1.
I dont want to upgrade.
Somehow when the new ios 6.0.1 update is out with OTA support, the phone automatically download the software from wifi. Dont ask what i want to do! Its not fair!
I dont want upgrade! Why download without ask me? -800MB steal from memory!!! And cant delete! Hang on this in the phone unnecessary.
The old 6.0 dont download automatically! Fix it!
How to delete?
Sorry nothing downloads by itself without your permission or at least asking you if you want to download.
It can NOT download "by itself". You MUST initiate the download yourself. The only way to reclaim the space is to install it.
I know need a permission, but I dont accept the download. I dont allow to download. I can remember if i choose download.
When the update come, i see the notification badge on settings, but i dont do that! Just facing up downloaded status.
And i test a 3GS with 6.0. Connected to the wifi. I dont touch the phone. Later i see the badge on settings!
Go setting and update is ready to install!!! Not ask me!!! Auto download! Only choose install now! THX apple!
Must fix it! Steel the free space!

The badge just lets you know that it's available. It does NOT initiate a download or install of the update.
Whether you remember tapping the "download and install" button or not is irrelevant. If it has been downloaded, the only way to reclaim the space is to install it.
IF you have backed up your iPhone to iTunes already yoummightnbe able to wipe the phone and restore to the latest backup

There is nothing to delete. Its just a badge. Don't do anything.

Auto download and ready to install, there is no other choice. Only install.
All device my 4 and 3gs too. Dont ask. Its *****. Dont choice what can i do with that.
the restore upgrade with 6.0.1 not the old 5.1.1 thats the problem.
i backed up cloud and pc too. but doesnt help me the restore.
Not only badge 😟 if just a badge i dont care, but download 800+mb and sit on my phone free space.
