how can i delete downloaded ios update from iphone settings/general/software update

I use iPhone 4 with ios 5.1.1.

I dont want to upgrade.

Somehow when the new ios 6.0.1 update is out with OTA support, the phone automatically download the software from wifi. Dont ask what i want to do! Its not fair!

I dont want upgrade! Why download without ask me? -800MB steal from memory!!! And cant delete! Hang on this in the phone unnecessary.

The old 6.0 dont download automatically! Fix it!

How to delete?

I know its been 3 years. However this problem is still going on with new OS updates.

THE SOLUTION:

Step 1: Go to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage.

Step 2: Select “iOS 8.0.1.” Because it is over 1GB, it is probably towards the top of your list.

Step 3: Tap Delete Update, and tap Delete Update again to confirm.

This will effectively remove the downloaded update from your device and prevent you from accidentally installing it.

BTW: This guy had a storage problem, and instead of helping him solve it you guys just blamed him for causing it in the first place. That doesn't help anyone...and then by page 3 there were tons of people proving that it wasn't the original poster's fault after all. Keep that in mind when you attempt "help" people in the future. Just answer their question. Don't try to blame them for screwing it up in the first place.
