what happened to "save as"?

I don't use the mountain lion computer for much besides facebook, but when i do the 'save as' function seems to be gone.

is there a way to restore this basic computer function?

why would it be gone?

Where has 'Save All' disappeared from?

Basically, from any app Apple writes (Final Cut Pro X, iLife, iWork, the included OS X apps).

Adobe (thank goodness!) ignored Apple's autosave/versions feature of Lion and later. Theirs, and any app has to be written to use autosave/versions. Otherwise, the apps behave as they always have.

Hi baltwo,

I'm curious. Did you apply the keyboard shortcut change in the System Preferences in Lion or Mountain Lion? If you did, it will carry over to Mavericks in the same user account if you installed 10.9.x over Lion or ML. I did check to see if Apple change the default menus back to pre-Lion listings, but it's not. If I remove my shortcut redirect, it goes back to the Lion and later type listing (without the Option key held down):

I installed on top of my Snow Leopard boot volume (clone), so I guess it did carry over.

That's odd. Command+Shift+S of course is the default for Save As in Snow Leopard and earlier. Installing Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks over SL will always cause Save As to be bumped from the menus by Duplicate as Command+Shift+S. Assuming the user hasn't added the keyboard shortcut change in the System Preferences.
