When I attempt to upgrade an app in iTunes for windows, I get an error: "Could not purchase. An unknown error occurred (11111). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later"

I am running the latest iTunes 10.7.0.21 for Windows 7.

This error occurs if I try to either update the app or if I delete it and attempt to redownload.

I have an iPhone and an iPad. I am unable to update the apps or install the apps from within the App Store on iOS.

I do not have an AOL ID, as is a common issue with this type of error.

From what I can tell, my Apple ID account seems fine. I logged in, changed some information, and ensured my credit card is valid and updated.

I can download new apps just fine. I am unable to update or install apps I have purchased in the past.

I have exactly this problem , its been like a week now.

I tried to sign out and sign in again through iTunes.

Did NOT work

I tried to update my apps again this evening, and IT WORKED! Hopefuly it's working for everyone else.

I somehow managed to fixed it through my iPhone.

Go to

Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads turned both to ON

Then

iTunes & App Stores > click on your Apple ID > View Apple ID > updated my payment data

Hope it works for everyone else

Today it's working also here in Italy, and according to another couple of threads in the forums they've eventually fixed their bug. I've reached the personal record of 75 app updates waiting to be downloaded and now they're flowing down the pipe.

Hooray. No response from Apple to my open support ticket and/or to the threads here in the discussion forums, but at least for me the problem resolved itself last night and continues to function fine. I had confirmed it working on my devices last night and confirmed iTunes operation this morning. It appears to have been iFixed.

Everything seems to be working OK. Was able to update in one tap of the update button. Was able to update on my desktop iTunes and was able to download previously purchased content from my iCloud.

Received a call from the tech support guy asking if it had been resolved and I told him everything was OK.

Guess Apple got enough complaints to fix the problem. They won't publicly acknowledge the problem...just quietly fix it in the background.

Hope everyone else has gotten the problem fixed!

It seems this was a server issue. Both iTunes and iOS devices are updating correctly now with no change on my end to either my account nor devices.
