Hi

I would also try a PRAM reset.

Shut down the computer.

Restart it holding down Apple/CMD ( or ⌘)+ALT( ⌥)+P+R Keys until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.

Hi,

New info.

Is your Serail Number Missing ?

Open the Apple iCOn menu and select ABout this Mac

Click the line that shows the OS version twice.

(it shows the Build number and then the Serial Number)

If the Serial Number is missing it needs to be replaced.

It seems it is now used as part of the Security/Verification Process that places a Certificate for iMessages in the Keychain.

It also seem an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider can restore the Serial Number (it gets "flashed" to an eprom chip)

Humm,

I thought I had scanned the thread before I reposted about the Serial Number. Sorry about that.

Make the Finder the app that shows in the Menu Bar.

Use the Go Menu > Go to Folder and type ~/Library/Preferences in the dialogue box that appears.

Find the com.apple.imservice.Message.plist and drag it to the Trash

Repeat for com.apple.imessages.bag.plist

Restart Messages
