How to install itunes on a windows 8 operating system?
Itunes-OTHER, Other OS, Windows 8 Itunes
Hello all,
I am having a similar problem with my itunes accesibility. I have a lenovo with windows 8 and no matter what browser i use i cannot download itunes from the apple site or any second or third party site. I do not even get to the setup to choose "run" or "save." I simply get to the "Thank you for downloading itunes" page without a download even starting. I saw that someone had the exact same problem as me above but their remedy did not work for me. Please help !
Thanks
First: Did you install Windows 8 Media Center?
http://miapple.me/2012/12/05/adding-windows-8-pro-media-center-to-get-itunes-11- working/
Second: Did you clear all of your internet browser before downloding?
Third: Did you download firstly, then run the installation as admin?
Cheers,

No i did not install Windows 8 Media Center actually, and yes i cleared all of my browsing data. I did not even get to the stage you are talking about in your third point. A download did not come up, i was merely directed to the thank you page without a download.
Install Windows 8 Media Center!!!!!
I was going to buy the new Dell XPS One 27 touchscreen but now I'm against it, again, mainly because I have little patience for spending loads amount of time on sorting these kind of issues out lol. I've now decided, hopefully I'll stick to it, to buy the new 27" iMac with the i7, 3TB HDD and 8GB RAM (which I'll manually upgrade to 32GB as it's so much cheaper) and use Parallels 8 to run Windows 7/or 8 alongside the iMac OS, leaving the iTunes on the mac OS where it will perform the best too I imagine, and enabling me to use Windows for anything Microsoft related.
I'm sure Apple will fix this issue though sooner or later with iTunes on Windows 8.
Good Choice!
hehe cheers. 😉
Another reason that prompted me reverting my sights back onto the iMac was Dell's atrocious customer which made me feel quite depressed every time I spoke with them so I know who better to give my hard earned money to lol ... Apple's customer service is second to none, from my experiences any way.
I'm looking forward the day my Windows 8 machine will crash. After that i will purchase a Mac, too!!

Actually baxter didn't say if he has Windows 8 pro or not, which is what u need to get Windows Media Center. I'm having this same problem getting Itunes with only having Windows 8. I did everything u said besides installing Windows Media Center because i don't have Windows 8 Pro, just Windows 8 that was preinstalled on my laptop when i bought it. It still will not install. It downloads fine both in choosing "save" or "run, both options do the same -downloads then when file is opened gives this error message "This app can't run on your PC. To find a version to run on your PC, check with the software publisher." The people that are also having this problem and have W8pro can get the Windows Media Center download (from http://http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/feature-packs) for free until Jan. 31, 2013 or pay $70 bucks after that day. Except when i try to purchase the upgrade to Pro (which is only $40 online till jan. 31st then goes up) so i could get the Media Center the Windows upgrade assistant wouldn't let me saying that it was not available for purchase online in my region yet... So what to do now? it's really getting kinda ridiculous, like they are blocking at every corner.
I installed Win 8 Pro upgrade and could not install iTunes. I had a previous version that would not uninstall. I tried many of the fixes offered in the forum, to no avail. Finally I downloaded a trial version version of REVO UNINSTALLER PRO. It did not allow the uninstall of iTunes because of the same error I got with windows uninstall program, i.e. finding the iTunes64.msi installer. I would up using REVO's option to find all iTunes program fragments and registry entries which allowed me to completely uninstall all items. I then installed itunes64 successfully. I hope this helps.
still having my issue, even after getting media center, again i have windows 8 pro 32 bit
In my case I had many remnents of iTunes in my system so I downloaded REVO UNINSTALLER PRO from CNET. I had to scan my system for remnents with the REVO software. It worked perfectly and I was able to install iTunes without any problems with my personal preferences intact. Be careful with REVO because after the scan for remnents it will highlight ANY partical of iTunes, even registry items and delete them. Make a backup of you registry and your system prior to letting REVO do its job. Good luck.
I'm not sure why people are still using iTunes period, it's garbage.
Copy Trans is the way to go. It does everything you've always wished iTunes could do. And it officially supports Windows 8 and has no issues running on it what so ever.
Right, but u have to have actually used iTunes with ur device at least once to create a library before u can use Copy Trans. So for someone like my son that just got a new ipod and a new computer...? would u like to try again to actually help instead of making disparaging remarks?
I finally had success downloading from this link
http://support.apple.com/downloads/
Use the 64 bit one. I do not have Win 8 pro.
Using the "main" link never worked for me, I'd get the "thank you" page but it just would not download. Just did this link and taaa daaa!!
