Like many others, my 2011 iMac has a problem where it kernel panics during sleep and reboots itself on 10.8.2. I talked to Apple on the phone and they said the graphics card was broken and to bring it into the store. At the Apple Store, they did not find anything wrong with it, and it did not kernel panic while they had it, and said that while I brought it to the store, it having been unplugged for that long reset the SMC, which may have fixed it. I got it home, reconnected it and everything, put it to sleep, and it happened again. Almost every time the computer is asleep it Kernel Panics and reboots itself. I made a Time Machine backup, wiped the hard drive and installed 10.8.0 (Not 10.8.2) and put everything back on the computer. After doing that, the kernel panics went away, and I never had a problem. Today, a game I wanted to play required me to update to 10.8.2 to use it properly with Game Center. I updated thinking that the issue would not happen, but it did. The game works, but the kernel panics are happening again just like before. This only happens with 10.8.2, not any other version, not 10.8.1 or 10.8.0 or Snow Leopard or Lion. I sent a bug report to Apple, and they said it was a duplicate, which I assume means they are aware of the issue. I have posted this before, and people told me it is a problem with the software I have installed and the accessories. It is not. The same software and accesories works fine on every other version of OSX, just not 10.8.2. I am about to blow a gasket over here trying to fix this. I do not think I can hold out until 10.8.3, assuming that they fix this problem in the update. Many other people have posted about this problem. I added the panic report below.
