Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

deleting rss feed

After deleting my first podcast from iTunes, i cannot upload new ones again. The error message is "The feed has already been submitted".

My questions are: does this mean automatic upload/update of new episodes because it says the RSS feed has already been submitted (I USE PODOMATIC.COM)?

What if it's completely a new and different podcast but with the same Podomatic account? If not, how can i upload my new episodes?

Does it mean that all podcast i will be preparing with podomatic.com will use absolutely ONLY one RSS feed URL to update many episodes into iTunes??

Any help will be appreciated.

When you subscribe from the Advanced menu your iTunes Application reads the feed off your server. The iTunes Store is not involved.

As your feed is available people can subscribe to it, but as I've explained it is not in the Store and so people can't find it that way.

The image which is referenced in the feed is not displayed when subscribing: it has to be actually embedded in the media file for each episode - please see this page for more details:

And just to summarize:

Your original feed was accepted in the Store: this means that the feed is read by the Store and its contents displayed as your podcast page. When people subscribe they read your feed directly so they can still do this even after that podcast was removed from the Store - a process which did not affect your feed itself, only the Store page.

Your original feed has been replaced by your new version. People can now subscribe to it as explained above.

I don't know about changing the ID - I can't remember that anyone's actually tried that one - but I rather doubt it. You're going to have to change the title. Incidentally, although subscribers can see your podcast now, which is something, even if you manage to get it submitted it could take several weeks before it appears in the iTunes Store.

OK Sir...How do i get to change the Title? Cuz i have changed it several times and still nothing is happening. Am i getting what you mean by title right?? You mean the title of the episode, right?

The first one (deleted) was "The smell of God". The second (recent) is "The Holy Spirit my closest friend".

Is that what you talking about? Did you check out the picture i uploaded? What did you make out of it? The feed is still active...If so, why can't i just re-submit it or sort of re-activatre it in iTunes and it keeps telling me "The feed has already been submitted"!

It's way past working hours (It's 11:07pm my time) but i really want to sort this mess up!

Anyways Good Samaritan, I'm really grateful for your time and support. God bless you.

I CONTACTED ITUNES STORE AND THIS IS THE REPLY:

Dear Ted,

Welcome to iTunes Store Customer Support. My name is Rohit and I am glad to help you today.

I understand that you are unable to submit your podcast as you are receiving an error message. I am sure you must be eager to get this resolved at the earliest. I will do whatever I can to help you right away.

Ted, please note that, the iTunes Store automatically updates its entries based on the feed URL, so your podcasts do not need to be submitted again. Just make sure that your podcasts are uploaded into the correct directory on the host server and that your podcast's XML file is updated to include the new episodes. When the iTunes Store pings your feed URL again, the new episodes will be listed.

If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to assist you. Thank you for being a valued iTunes Store Customer.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Rohit

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?? SHOULD I JUST WAIT?

Ignore that message, it's nothing to do with your problem, which is that you got your podcast deleted from the iTunes Store and will need to re-sumbit it. They've done what they often do - not read the question properly and send an irrelevant form answer.

Your feed at http://tedkloba.podomatic.com/rss2.xml has no episodes in it.

The title of your feed, which is what you need to change, is 'Royalhouse Chapel International' - it's not the episode title which matters. With no episodes your feed won't be accepted anyway.

My time zone is the same of yours, and I'm afraid that I'm now going to have to sign off and go to bed, so I can't offer any more comments for the time being.
