Why can't I access iCloud on my iPad?

Every time I try to get onto the cloud on my iPad 2, it tells me to set up an account--I already have one. I use the cloud every Amy on my computer!

Are you signed into your iCloud? Even when it asks you to set up an account there should be a space where it says log-in. Go to Settings > iCloud and enter your apple ID and password and it should sign you right in.

Thanks bobseufert for that. My partner's iPad won't send iCloud emails anymore. We've tried everything, very long story. We think it's the 'compulsory' firewall set up by our ISP and it can't be turned off.

I've never understood why Apple doesn't allow access to iCoud.com on iOS devices. Probably because they can (rapidly going off anything Apple)!

This is a breakthrough because as his main email account is iCloud now (BIG mistake), he can't reply or send emails from his iCloud account directly from his 'Mail' email client on his iPad.

It's a bit inconvenient to keep on having to log into iCloud and then hotmail and so on for various email accounts but at least it's now possible.

Many thanks for sharing this with us!!

Thanks for the post. I tried the Chrome workaround posted earlier, it works OK but slow.

I then followed your idea with Safari. I click the safari/ipad/welcome URL, drop down favourites & get the list of favourites without the '*Add to Favourites' or 'Request Desktop Site' choices showing.

I'm using iOS 8.2, I don't know where to look to find the Safari version number.

General Comment; Apple promote iCloud drive then cripples its use!

This is a great workaround if you can advise me on what I'm missing in applying your idea.

thanks, Peter

Now for the proper way to access from iCloud Drive. I only have DropDox that I can download into so I'll use that as an example.

First screenshot. Go to the DropBox app. Tap the three dots. Tap + Add Files. Tap iCloud.

Second screenshot. Affter you tap iCloud you will be given a list of the files you can download

It actually appears easy once you know how. 🙂

This is just ridiculous. Every sales line I heard at the Apple Store referenced Apple using cutting edge technology and technology superior to other vendors. someone please tell me how plugging a cord into my lap top and iPad is cutting edge Technology. Luckily I am with in the 14 day return period. I can not access iCloud from my iPad, I can not access my files from my iPad. What good is a iPad if I can not access my files? So much for apples innovative technology huh.
