Why can't I access iCloud on my iPad?
Every time I try to get onto the cloud on my iPad 2, it tells me to set up an account--I already have one. I use the cloud every Amy on my computer!

Are you signed into your iCloud? Even when it asks you to set up an account there should be a space where it says log-in. Go to Settings > iCloud and enter your apple ID and password and it should sign you right in.
Thanks for this tip. Running Chrome on iphone however and then clicking drop down box and selecting Desktop does not get you to website. It just launches a smaller version of the same screen I am starting with that asks for you to set up account etc. Weird.
I have the same problem and the reason I wanted to access the icloud.com website was for my friend to use my phone to log on to her account so she could access her 'find my iphone' feature to locate her phone. She had misplaced it while we were together. Frustrating.
Understood. I can test myself.
However the thread was about checking from the iPad so I didn't even check my phone!
Sorry.

Just testing on my iPhone.
Works just fine. Hit the site in Chrome. When standard iPhone dialog comes up to set up iCloud on your phone, hit the menu key and select "Request Desktop Site".
Regular desktop version of iCloud opens. Its almost unusable though. Chrome will not reformat the screen for your phone and I can't seem to scroll one way or another. I did successfully log into the page though and all my normal features were there from the desktop.
So not really usable yet. But it does "work" in the loosest sense of the word.

Hi jamie,
If your friend wants to locate her phone using Find My iPhone, all she has to do is to logon to the Find My iPhone app on your phone. If you don't have the app on your phone, download it - it's free. Then, when you click on the app icon, it will ask for a sign on. Anyone can sign on and access their Find My iPhone information.
Cheers,

GB,
Perfect. Thanks.
Thanks. Perfect. Google Chrome works. Apple Safari doesn't. The world is turning.
I've been getting tons of spam to one of my icloud aliases, so I wanted to use the web mail interface to create a specific folder for messages sent to that alias and create a rule to automatically route them there. Was not able to do this in icab as you suggested. Following is email I sent to the developer:
"I got your browser for a specific purpose: to be able to access the web based icloud.com on my ipad. I set up icab mobile to be identified as Safari for Mac (as was suggested in an apple discussion on this subject), and yes I was able to access icloud.com, log in, and go to the mail module. Once there, however, I was unable to (1) give an added folder any name other than the default, (2) delete the folder, (3) and most importantly acces the settings so that I might be able to create rules -- which was the purpose for which I bought your app in the first place."
Thank you so much for this solution- it helped to get around an over-zealous campus security which precludes one from accessing outside email.
Thanks, that's the best answer!
Use Chrome, go to icloud.com, request desktop version under settings, BACKSPACE URL TO LEAVE ICLOUD.COM, hit return, log in!
Great for Icloud Drive purposes. I use it to transfer big MP3 audiobooks to listen to on the ipad which can't be uploaded to iTunes Match because of their sixe.
Should help those looking for mail workarounds too.
You can also do it from Safari. Go to iCloud.com. Tap the URL field. Pull favorites down. Tap request desktop site. Sign in to iCloud.
how about that! I had no idea that was there. super!
It's new, don't tell anybody. 🙂
Ok, I was able to do this and have Icloud open on my Ipad. I can see all the files and folders, but it won't let me open anything. PDF, word, excel, jpeg?
