iTunes 11 for Mac: Search is completely broken.

Argh!

So Apple - when you test iTunes - how many songs are you testing against?

My iTunes library has about 83k songs, 5,143 albums.

I loaded iTunes 11, and......

1.) Search is completely broken. As in, it DOES NOT WORK. Search should wait for typing to be completed or <enter> hit before trying to search. With a large iTunes library on a fairly new Mac, hit one letter - get spinny ball - wait 3 minutes - get result from first letter back. Wait to search for "The Grey Album" would potentially take a half hour of waiting. IT IS HORRIBLY BAD!

Without search - it's VERY difficult to navigate the collection of music I have,

PLEASE FIX THIS!

Ok 2 macs both with Itunes 11.1 both freeze up on the search. Library has 42000 tracks. Clicking the option not to search entire library worked. But wow really itunes is really starting to look kind of bad at this point. Ok Apple do something! Fix it! I was enjoying it and had very few lock up issues and then when the new update happened bam nothing frozen both computers.

85,000 songs on external drive

Early 2008 iMac

SSD drive internally

Search is a joke even with "Search Entire Library" unchecked.

When looking for a song I select only songs and type in the name and press enter. ALL my songs show with no filtering at all..!!

Sometimes it seems to work if I delete the search term (in this case the song name i was looking for) and type it back in again and press enter. Or if I switch back and forth between "song" and "artist" and randomly attempt deleting and retyping at the same time (no recognizable pattern figured out yet).

I can't believe how bad itunes 11 is..! I do like the Up Next feature but the rest has made it unusable. I know people didn't like the older iTunes but at least it was functional.
