iPhone won't show up in iTunes 11.

I had the same issue.

I uninstalled the iPhone from Device Manager in Windows. Then, with iTunes open, I unplugged and reconnected my iPhone.

The second time it installed the Apple USB Driver and showed up correctly.

I agree with everyone here, sounds like a pc issue. But, leave no stone unturned! Gotta try it all! I was saving this one... Disconnect all usb devices attached to your computer except the keyboard and mouse. Turn off the computer and restart it. Do not connect anything but the iphone once itunes is up and running. I have a printer that will slam on the brakes to my iphone if its connected. Iphone shows up in windows, but not itunes. Its annoying.

JUST WANTED TO SHOW YOU WHERE THE iPHONE SHOWS UP IN THE NEW iTUNES. Hope this helps.

ARGGGGH! I'm having the same issue 😕

I have just updated to version 11 and iTunes will not sync with my iPhone 4. I can see it logged in 'Devices" but it is greyed out so therefore it will not connect.

Any suggests please.

Laptop, PC or Mac? Need Specifics. Mainly, re-download itunes and try again.

If you have any USB devices connected, disconnect them. Also disconnect from the internet and turn off your antivirus before you connect your idevice. Reboot the idevice as well before connecting to the laptop.

I also don't know it it makes a difference at all (I'm a novice), but I noticed on my desktop the iTunes icon had an arrow showing a shortcut. When I tried to open and connect I had the same problems. So I them went to 'All Progams' near the start button and opened up iTunes from there it it connected. maybe there is a problem with the shortcut icon on the desk top?

I had this problem on iTunes (Mac). I solved it by rebooting my iPhone.

same situation here, and i'm on a new iMac. when i plug my iphone 4G in, a button/dropdown menu labeled 'iphone' appears in the upper right corner in itunes 11. when i click it, it soimply disappears and won't come back. i've done this like 15 times, rebooted, and restarted my device. same deal. nothing.

aaaaand i just figured out that the button in the upper right is an 'eject' button, which makes little sense since it appears a few pixels away from the itunes store/library button (which does function as a button). so that's figured out.... but what i'm still not ablwe to understand is why i can't see my device's music AND my library on my hard disk simultaneously, like is itunes 10. how do i now move music from my library to my device??

This might work for you: Control Panel --> Device Manager (search for this) --> Under USB Controllers

See if your connected USB device shows up.

If you see a warning icon on the controller right click and update the driver.

If successful then device appear in ITunes.

I have iPhone 4S with latest version.

I Sync it with my MAC, that also has the latest versions regarding OS).

Last week I got problem with my iPhone that has to do with the upgrade to 6.0, old shortcuts (representing in apps, like 'settings' etc.) is replaced but was still in the program synconisation view in iTunes... However during this period iTunes 11 was released and I installed it.

No problem except the thing with the old shortcuts was still there. In order to fix the problem I deleted the old shortcuts directly on my iPhone homescreen wich resulted into that I couldnt no longer reach settings on my iPhone (!!)

Backup and then recovery was the only resonable way to fix this.

Did Backup - no problem.

Did recovery - no problem.

Started rollback of backup from iTunes - no problem

But the problem now is that I cant get pass the "backup-rollback"-screen!

Any clues??
