iTunes 11: why can't show album artwork preview of songs that is not currently playing??!!

Just installed iTunes 11, I like 'what's next' function very much, good job on this. BUT:

Why album artwork preview of songs that is not current playing cannot be seen??? Why, I don't understand......

Don't you feel the Songs page is half blank???? I know you can see the big album cover pop up when you click the mini album thumbnail for the song that is playing, but you can't do this for songs that is not playing, like in iTunes 10.

In iTunes 10 you can actually choose how album artwork will be displayed (click or play) which is very useful because I like to browse my artworks while playing songs, and I have different artworks assigned to each song!!! Now I can't view them.

Please add back this function, clearly Song tab is so white and blank, it could use some artwork.

I too had the same problem - missing artwork or should I say no artwork on any of my CD's. Eventually and quite by accident I discovered a partial solution. Go to File, Library, Get Artwork. That brought artwork to some but not all of my albums. Dunno about the rest though. HAven't solved that one yet.

- cmd+click (on Macs) on the image to the LEFT in the playback control bar at the top-middle when playing the track concerned, to get a single full-screen image of that track.

!! BUT TWO HUGE NEGATIVES !!

(1) This only shows you the FIRST image of a multi-image booklet!

— Why??

(2) It only shows upto "fit to screen" size and NOT "show fullsize", when you cmd+click the opened image.

— so if you're on a small display, you cannot see the image detail any bigger within iTunes. Why??

Hope this helps those wondering at least how this currently worls and it's (high) limiations. 😟

Unf-ing believably bad design! When all they had to do was incorporate these two extra things with a few extra lines of code!

Really makes me angry with Apple and their entirely selfish attitude to the great many users who have spent the last decade incorporating multiple high-res images PER TRACK &/or PER ALBUM. 😮

I swear, complete blood-y idiots design this stuff!

Anyone got any workarounds?

Good News:
iTunes 11.1 update has brought back the view artwork option in list view that is sizable.

Erm, sorry ChicagoBubba, but that's absolutely nothing to do with what we're talking about here, so solves absolutely nothing with regard to multipage artwork being viewable!

Read the thread BEFORE adding entirely irrelevant comments, driving up users hopes needlessly.
