Home sharing not working properly after iTunes 11

Home sharing is not working properly after iTunes 11 and its related softwares updates. When streaming to ATV from mac when mac goes to sleep the atv stops playing a show. This issue was not present before the update...

This is not a sleep issue. It is definitely an iTunes 11 problem with home sharing

I have a windows 7 computer, an iMac, two ATV gen2, two iPads, two iPhones and and iPod.

Up until then mistake of updating my iTunes to 11, they all worked flawlessly. I was able to stream my large video and music library to any of my devices. No I can see the libraries, and can even start the video. However it just goes to an hourglass and never plays anything.

Apple has a serious problem with their quality control these days. Jobs would never have allow crap like this to take place.

I know apple techs do read these forums at times.

When can we see some relief????

Same for me

It's been intermittently working on my Apple TV since iTunes 11 was installed to my Win7 PC. Kept dropping and I'd have to reboot router or turn off/on the home sharing in order for it to work again

Came down to today where nothing is working. Can't find shared libraries on my ipad2 or iphone 4s either even though it shows as shared in the itunes library. None of my devices can see the library. No other changes have taken place to my Win7 PC aside from the update to iTunes11

I'm not happy.

If anyone from Apple can offer advice beyond their standard "troubleshooting" I'd be grateful

after i update to itunes 11 .. i lost my entire library to move back to 10

i am now running 10.6 i found to download.. all my purchases and apps pulled over.. i did a system recovery to factory settings on puter.. and lost all my music for some reason.. luckily before i did anything.. i went to homeshare and placed all my music on my husbands account.. so now i just got my home sharing back.. and took all my music back.. i will never update itunes again.... .grrrrrr

I never had the sleep issue at all, isn't that affecting MAC users? My library runs from an old P4 Win7 PC in my garage hooked up to a powerline adapter. I leave this PC running 24/7 and it solely holds my itunes library

I was totally fine until release of itunes11 and then the issues started

I signed out of everything, turned off home sharing, rebooted everything including router and then added home sharing back to all my devices and so far its not dropped once

Same problem. I have an iMac, a Macbook, three Apple TVs, two iPads and four iPhones in the house, Up until upgrading to iTunes 11 streaming worked just fine. This is just awful, as I have thrown out my CDs and if home sharing now doesn't work properly, I have to go back to plugging in iPod Classics around the house to play music.

When I start a movie, if home sharing works at all, it often drops out and then shows the Apple logo in My Computers instead of my library. Looking at my iMac, it is not sleeping. It even happens when I set Caffeine to stay awake indefinitely.Sometimes sharing won't work at all, sometimes only for a few minutes.

I hope Apple's upcoming patch fixes this. You'd think this would have come out in testing in-house.

Home Sharing not working since itunes 11 update. Running Vista32. Everything worked fine before.

BTW - very UNDERwelmed with 11. No new beneficial features - Took away some things I really liked, and mixed up what was left to make it all harder to get to.

Why do these guys feel the need to mess with UIs for no good reason!!! Tip to Apple software designers: If it aint broke dont fix it!!

For me, everything was working fine before upgrading to iTunes 11. Now when attempting to stream a movie from Mac miini or Imac to ATV, the movie will stop repeatedly. Mine does not seem to be tied to the sleep timer on the mac. I also tried to stream from 2012 iMac to the Mac Mini and had the same problem of the movie stoping repeatedly.

I have Plex server set up on iMAC and the Plex client on the mac mini and it still works fine.
