Itunes 11 will not search in my Ipod

After figuring out in other threads how to make the Search somehow work again in my Library, I was listening to music on my Ipod via Itunes (which is a mess btw, had to go back to the old look to do that nicely else there's this HUGE playlist bar on the left that makes it terribly hard to use) and I tried to search in my Ipod Library/playlist like I used to in Itunes 10 and... it doesn't work.

Is the search of music in a device broken? I might honestly go back to 10 if just for that.

Looks like the latest update 11.0.1.12 fixes this issue (at least it does on Windows). Glad the folks at Apple are listening.

I still think the "Search Entire Library" bar on the right side is useless and annoying, but at least now we can search connected devices.

Thanks for fixing this, Apple.

Now, does anyone know how to get rid of ClearType (anti-aliasing) in the iTunes 11?

Itunes has just upgraded to 11:0:1 (12) on my mac and I can now search my ipod / ipad / devices again.

Clicking my iPod's Music tab automatically disables the 'Search Entire Library' so perhaps this was an oversight on Apple's part. Should have been ironed out in field tests though.

Still don't have the separate window feature that I found useful for creating visible playlists but can't have everything you want in life I guess.

Itunes 11 had many glitches but you should be able to get most of your stuff back with a 'Check for Updates'.

You should be able to get your sidebar back by choosing Show Sidebar in the View tab toolbar.

Most likely your music hasn't actually vanished but your new Itunes might have changed it's folder location in the preferences.

Thanks Lenny, I recovered my stuff and figured out how to restore things with your help. Merry Xmas!

Just wish Apple would stop with the zillion iTunes updates (try keeping a common library with 3 Macs if the versions aren't consistent). In fact, maybe they can find a few teenagers to create a brand new media manager so you can do things like:

- drop your bought music on somebody else's Mac to listen to some music when you visit (remember taking your Soft Machine LPs to your buddy's house without the turntable being sabotaged?)

- transfer music or podcasts to your iPod in proper (rather than reverse) order?

- see your devices in the sidebar 100% of the time rather than 85% (hey - just reboot the whole thing again)

- don't get me going on my optical drive that burned out a few months after the warranty expired on my +$2,000 iMac
