Obviously Apple is doing so well financially, they did not see the need for itunes users to easily purchase music. They wanted us to become so frustrated that we would no longer purchase music until the sorting function was fixed. I also depended on the sort functionality. It's completely idiotic that you can't sort the names of the songs alphabetically. Am I supposed to search through 100 songs by an artist to find the correct one, when there could possibly be ten different mixed versions of one song. There isn't any rhyme or reason to the list. Most popular songs are all through the list. Sorting with most popular column helps if you dont know the name of a song. Bad decision, Apple, really bad. I will not waste my time until this is corrected

Ok - I was looking how to sort by popularity and found this thread. This is how I would sometimes find the right song, I wanted to purchased. Now it seems that feature is not available on the "main" page. However I found that it is available on a song page.

For example I was looking for a song by Audiomachine. Could not remember the title. Typed in Audiomachine to the search in the store.

It brought me to a page that had results and to the right was a side bat listing ALL, SONGS, ALBUMS and then below that another sidebar ARTISTS & MORE which had listed AudioMachine/classical and Epic Symphony/world.

I attempted to sort the music that was listed by popularity trying the old way by clicking on the word popularity. That did not work.

I finally clicked on the Artists & More listing of Audiomachine/classical. Which took me to the page with all of the albums listed. At the top of the page is ALBUMS. And there are thumbnails of the albums. Scroll down below to SONGS

Next to the word is Best Sellers and the tiny arrow. click on the arrow and it drops down to give you the option of sorting the albums by Best Selling, Name, or Release Date.

If you click on Best Seller. Look to the right and click SEE ALL.

Then you will see the songs listed by popularity.

Yeah - seems like a long way to go now to do something that took maybe a few moments before. Hope this might help sorting for other things.I think you would just do a similar action.

I just downgraded to iTunes 10.7 because iTunes 11 doesn't do it for me - including this issue amongst a number of others. Not being technically inclined I was worried downgrading was going to be really difficult, but I followed the instructions and download links posted on emacconsulting.com and it couldn't have been more straightforward. It took me about 10 minutes from beginning to end. I'm much happier now and won't be upgrading automatically again to any future iTunes update without checking out feedback first. V10.7 may not look as "clean" as V11 but foe me it does something V11 doesn't - it works and does the things you'd expect it to do in a much more intuitive way, such as being able to sort your search results on any field with a single click. I'm happier now I've downgraded but hope if you decide to stick with V11, you get to be able to do what you want it to.
