What are your thoughts on the New iTunes 11?

I for one am not very impressed! You lose cover flow, and the ability to resize your album art. Unlike previous versions where everything is not in just one area now your searching over the whole itunes for what you need to do. Its cluttered and instead of just editing one album your stuck at looking at all the other distractions instead of what your trying to edit. What are all of your thoughts on this new itunes?

Very poor beta testing is responsible.

I don't think beta testing is at fault. All the concept is wrong.

Normally it should be like this:

A. Decide what exactly we want to do with the software,

B. Make the software to achieve A as easy as possible.

But now, A is completely missing! They simply copied iPhone version because it works so beautifully. Forgot to think about that what you do on computer may be different.

For example, what if you create AAC version of your library for use on iPhone? Before, at least you could create separate playlists for Lossless and AAC versions, and browse them same way as you do with whole library - grid, album list or song list. Now, only song list is available for playlist, how do you browse anything?

They even have lost a concept of Album Art! It is still present in the grid view, but what gets displayed in large format is in fact a Song Art!

What a fail to design software where you need to embed album art in EACH SONG. If you were a student and made a project like this, you would fail for sure.

Because, professor would not forget to ask you the most important question - "What is that you wanted to do?"

Agree with everything mentioned. They've also b0rked search... I have my whole library tagged with descriptive comments that I use while searching... Kind of helps when DJing. I found search doesn't even scan the comments or the grouping field...

In the end I did manage to fix this by ensuring that comments and groups were visible as columns in the window I'm searching, but WHY should I have to do that?

Plus no album artwork preview is stupid.

Plus no genius sidebar (even as an option). I actually liked it and found it useful.

I think some people should check it out before compaining that they should fire people. iTunes 11 works great for me, and has far more functionality than previous versions. Ther arer all kinds of views available if you check it out.

But there's no way to satisfy some people who are determined to hate (not referring to you Porf).

Actually my problem isn't about new features. But features they took away. Mainly 3: Dj, Cover Flow and dark Grid View. I also liked the old way of searching. I have a 126GB size libaray. I also listen to classical a lot. The current search is almost useless for me.

Now i can get around the new search by using a 3rd party app. But the other 3 are just gone. I'd like to know why.
