My Apple TV froze while updating. What can I do to fix this? It says not to unplug but I don't know what else to do. Help
Unplug eithernet and power. Plug power back in. Start update again on wifi. Works fine. Unplug only eithernet for future updates. Then plug back in after each update. For some reason updates are flawless only when Apple TV is operating on wifi.

Not exactly true.. My Apple TV is wifi connected, and I had this same hang during the last update.. Was frozen for about 2 hours, 3/4 into step 1. Finally unplugged it and restarted the update and it completed in 3 minutes!

Me too although mine didn't freeze but I've tried 4 times with update unsuccessful even tried a restore but the same,apple please help!
Same problem here. Going on 4 hours of frozen and afraid to unplug it. Any help would be great.

Update: It finished eventually...just seemed to freeze for a while with a bit less than 1/4 of the update remaining.
I got to the same point. Unplugged and it rebooted but didn't upgrade and now says update on available at this time.
It froze during an update. What do I do. It says not to unplug
