iTunes 11 crashes when opening the store - no error message

I just installed iTunes 11 and it all works OK except the store.

When I click on the store, it all looks normal at first, but after the banner and the Quick links are displayed, I get a Windows message that the program is not working correctly and offering to close it. There is no error message.

The problem is system wide.

It did not respond to a complete uninstall of all Apple software and reinstall.

It still happens when I do a selective startup with basic services.

I have the following Segoe fonts: Segoe Print, Segoe Script, Segoe UI and Segoe UI symbol regular.

Could it be some other font issue?

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Ah, didn't mean to be frivolous in my last reply, but it was late and I was frustrated.

We seem to have the same issue, although I only sporadically received the "Could not complete your iTunes request" and not at all anymore. Not sure what cleared that up but I still crash after accessing the store and I have tried everything but shutting down all services and starting them up again one by one (per Apple's great help on this subject and which will be time consuming and a bit fraught for us non-IT types). I have tried everything else recommended.

I have run the iTunes diagnostic and it confirms that I have https to the Apple servers.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The QTMovieWin.dll was the source of my issue as well. procmon was fantastic in helping me determine that and thank you for your advice on modifying the PATH entry, it worked perfectly.

As a side note, my iTunes is installed on a different hard drive as I did not want it on my SSD. Out of curiousity, is anyone else with this specific issue configured the same way?

MazokuRanma - YES!! Thank you!! I ran procmon but I'm not an IT guy and was a bit overwhelmed by the data capture. However, I did see calls to QTMovieWin.dll failing.

I girded my loins (ok, bit over dramatic...but adding PATH variables can be a bit daunting to the non-pro who doesn't want to mess up his new computer) and added the PATH entry you suggested (prior I had confirmed the location of this dll on my hard drive).

IT WORKS!!

Wow, I still think Apple ***** for making us go through this level of trouble shooting and fix and if they aren't careful there are a bunch of Window's OS users who will start buying their music elsewhere than via iTunes store (which was what I was about to start doing). Imagine what the average Grandmother would do...she would walk away is what.

Thank again.

I have a new Toshiba Laptop, running Windows 8.1.

I share the problem with ITunes crashing when I tried to go into ITunes Store. I downloaded QTMovieWin.dll which I could not find in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support. (I later did find it.) and put it into C;Program FIles (X86)/ITunes and that solved the crash problem.
