List of iTunes 11 Problems That Need Fixing

iTunes 11, in my humble opinion, has been an utter disaster. A casual glance of the feedback from day 1 demonstrates this. For the sake of clarity and organizational unity, I thought it would be useful to have a running list of problems that need to be addressed, as all software are works in progress. Here we go. Please add your own.

1. No iTunes DJ. No reason to get rid of this.

2. No Artwork Cover Flow

3. Problems playing video files.

4. No Duplicate listing.

Is there a way to make apps sync automatically from device to iTunes? It used to do it, but now I think you have to do it manually. Whenever I or someone in my family (we have 5 iphones, 2 ipads, and several iPod Touches!) adds an app, it is not getting synced to iTunes anymore. Also, whenver apps are updated on a device, these updates don't seem to be transferred over either. Help!

Whats going on with apple? It's dissapointment after dissapointment. I always liked apple for the user friendliness and how everything was so adequate for every user. I pretty much agree with most of what I've read so far from this thread. There are a couple other issues though. One thing that is annoying me a lot (which i don't know if anybody else already has mentioned already) is the fact that you cant drag tunes from the "recently added" playlist!?

I mean, now I have to individually find each tune that i just added and drag it to my iPhone...that is so long.

Why the sudden change?? I do like the new album view, but i wish the music would just continue to play after an album is done. Instead of just stoping because it was the last track of the album..continue to the next album mayn! C'mon apple, dont let us down with these minor mistakes

I used to be able enter a search term and find all songs then slect all and add or create a playlist. What happened? now a separate column opens and I try using cmd to select more than one - that doesn't work. Tried shift to slect all that doesn't work. Wish there was a toggle to switch back to old interface. Anyone know how to search and find a more than one at a time to add to a playlist? I use to do that a lot!

I thank all of you who took the plunge and convinced me to watch from the sides until the water is safe😉

After reading a lot of entries where people wish they could go back to the last version, consider this...back up before ever downloading a new update from a company that we can no longer rely on. Then when the problems have completely ****** you off, just back up your computer to it's last version.

I have the latest version of iTunes on my laptop (I work in a Windows 7 environment). Since, installing the new version, it has given me nothing but grief. And what worse, Apple Support is unsupportive. Internet Explorer runs slow (have to run Task Manager frequently), CPU running at 100% (even with a technican, everytime I felt it was going in the right direction, Im back at 100% CPU), cant get into iTunes store from iTunes, converting a song from Windows Media Player to iTunes is slow (one song converted took over 30 minutes), Im in the process of synching my iPod right now (granted I have over 2,000 songs), I'm on hour number 4 of the synch. When I had the previous version of iTunes, it never took this long. All I wanted to do is upgrade my iPod from version 4.0 to 6.0 without losing anything. Did take my laptop to an, Apple Store and they tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes, and nothing happened. I went to a MacStore (considering iTunes is an Apple product), and one of the representatives told me that my problem with this is, your working on Windows, this would be faster if I bought a Mac. Really? How about Apple makes software that everybody can enjoy instead of making a fuss over it?

I agree with you, but remember please that this is a User to user forum so I doubt that Apple Employees read this.

It's better if you provide feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

That is not true. Apple does read this forum, at least to the extent of censuring messages they feel are inappropriate.

Two or three weeks ago I posted a message asking if Apple monitored this forum as a source of useful feedback. The message was almost immediately deleted as having "inappropriate content". I do not know why that was an appropriate question as it seems very reasonable to me that any customer purchasing expensive products would have a vested interest in knowing what might be an effective conduit to give the vendor useful feedback.

It is certainly not my desire to be negative but at this time I harbor significant animosity towards Apple. The latest version of iTunes incorporated changes that makes my expensive hardware much harder to use and in one case, impossible to use as I need to. Removal of Power Search and Search for Exact Duplicates, without any obvious justification, makes it harder to manage my music. Much worse, insult was added to the injury of not having a native refresh function by rendering the third party App ITLU (iTunes Library Updater) unusable. Now I cannot easily and simply add mp3 files to my music library withou going to heroics to get iTunes to recognize it.

Of course I would like to know that Apple is at least listening to this feedback. Apple's silence clearly establishes they going to do whatever they want because they know their hardware is so good (and it indeed is) they have no real incentive to listen to their paying customers.

Does apple have any support in US at all. They are making a fortune unfortunately that does not help the one's who are supporting them....

I don't believe they read any of the posts.......... apple i tunes 11 is the worst I have seen in a long time. I am afraid to uninstall

How ever I did uninstall off my other office computer that I use for the I phone.
