Yeah this is close(ish) to having the genius sidebar, thanks iBrarian

You can also get this within your playlists (I use a lot of playlists)

If you click on the "View" button in the top right above your playlist

And set view to "Artist List"

This will allow you to view a list of all the artists with tracks in your playlist

You can then click the "In the Store" tab to see the recommendations for that artist, not bad

Try doing this in your "Recently Added" playlist to get recommendations for stuff you've just bought

Apple have made iTunes incredibly convoluted now

They made a ton of money out of me from the Genius sidebar - just scanning my library and buying heaps of recomended songs - IT WAS SO SIMPLE!!!!

Replying to my own post since the option to edit my own post mysteriously disappeared.

I wanted to know why none of the suggestions here seemed to work on my computer.

I'm running iTunes 11.04 on a Windows computer - none of the suggestions work on my computer.

My wife is running iTunes 11.04 on an Apple computer - all the suggestions work on her computer.

New computer purchased and loaded with itunes 11, this version disappeared all ripped music and all music from other sources. To add insult to injury there is no way to return to any previous versions of itunes to get back my beloved genius sidebar recommendations, this is how i hunted down new music. I am still furious about losing this feature 6 months after new computer purchase. I also don't dare to connect my ipod to this version for fear i will lose much of my music ( as stated above) it would seem then that I would need to purchase another ipod for the new version. Does this make me a happy customer....ABSOLUTELY NOT!! I don't purchase much music anymore, just to open itunes puts me in a foul mood.
