Software Compatibility - Canon IR2025 and IR1024iF

Dear All,

I've been having issues with OSX 10.8.2 especially when trying to add the Canon IR2025 and IR1024iF network printers.

Installing the Canon driver is not the issues, but trying to add the printers to the Mac running OSX 10.8.2 is the main problem,

So, I could never successfully add these printers with the computer, I've I add the printers to the list anyway, I wont be able to print.

I've downladed the last Canon driver from the official website. http://support-sg.canon-asia.com/contents/SG/EN/0100429711.html

Prior upgrading my OSX, when my computer still running OSX 10.8.1 installing these 2 Canon network printer is not a problem, and they worked perfectly with all the functions.

Any advice how to mitigate through this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Running repair disk permissions will not delete any of your user data. So yes your data will be safe.

But I would recommend you perform a Time Machine backup, or whatever backup you use, before running the repair. This way you can revert back to the state before the repair disk should something go wrong.

Hi PAHU,

Unfortunately, it still doesn't work for me.

I went into Recovery HD, repair all the disks.

UFR still doesn't show in the Activity Monitor.

Consule still showing up messages that UFR Backgrounder trying to re-spawn.

Is there anyway that I can convey this to Canon?

Thank you in advance again.

I just read that the UFR2 driver does not support Mac OS Extended (Case-Sensitive, Journaled) or Mac OS Extended (Case-Sensitive).

So via Disk Utility, select the 10.8 Partition and at the bottom you of Disk Utility you will see what Format has been used. If it is either of the above then this is the cause.

Hi PAHU,

I checked, at my Mac Desktop system is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

But our other Mac uses the same format, and it seems no problem print onCanon iR2025 & iR1024iF.

As I mentioned before, prior when the Mac still running 10.8.1 installing these printers was no problem, and work perfectly.
