iTunes 11 Movies/TV Shows no artwork when purchased

This has me a bit stumped...

This has only started since I upgraded to iTunes 11 but I want to see if others are having the same issue or it's just me.

Since the upgrade if I purchase a movie or TV show on my Mac the artwork disappears when the download has finished, during the download I can see the artwork fine but as soon as it finishes it's gone. If I go into 'Get Info' the artwork option is greyed out.

Now, if I delete the Movie/TV Show from iTunes but keep a copy in iCloud the artwork reappears. So it would appear that anything stored in iCloud the artwork is fine but if downloaded locally then the artwork is not downloaded.

Has anyone else the issue?

This issue has been around for the past several versions of iTunes...at least OS X version. It seems most of us have found the few workarounds out there and have made due. I've found the Info Page / Next option to be my goto fix and have written a script to automate the precess. I know there are several scripts out there that will export/delete/re-import the artwork file...but this has never worked for me.

Below is my version of a script that simply opens the Info page for the Movie playlist and repeatidly hits the Next button until the end of the list. I run it over night.

tell application "iTunes"

activate

reveal (some playlist whose special kind is Movies)

end tell

tell application "System Events"

tell process "iTunes"

keystroke "i" using command down

end tell

end tell

repeat

tell application "System Events"

tell process "iTunes"

keystroke "n" command down

end tell

end tell

end repeat

It's June 2014 and this seems to still be a problem. I found that if I began the video (movie, tv, whatever), hit [cmd-i] to get info and then [esc] twice to back out of the info screen, stop the movie and return to the movie list and then selected a new movie - iTunes would create a thumbnail cover image. (I did have the Artwork tab open in Get Info)

- play movie

- get info

- esc key to close info box

- esc key again to stop movie

- select next movie.

Hit Control + Click on greyed out movie

Select “Delete”

Select “Hide Movie”

Do this for each greyed out movie

THEN

On top right of iTunes, click on your account name drop down menu

Select “Account Info”

Enter your iTunes password

Select “View Account”

Scroll down to “Hidden Purchases”

Select “Manage”

Ensure you are on “Movies” page in Hidden Purchases (on top right of Hidden Purchases)

Select “Unhide” for each movie that you have hidden

Return to “My Movies” page in iTunes and verify that each (formerly) greyed out movie artwork has been restored
