Battery draining really fast- 100% to Zero in 20 minutes

Today my iPhone 4 S (3 months old) is having some kind of battery freak out. It went from around 60% to 1% earlier today, in 5 minutes. I plugged it in, said it was charging, but I still had the "red" battery indicator on the screen. I got home, plugged it in to a wall charger and let it charge. It read 100% after a short time. I did a hard reboot and it read 100%.

Unplugged it and tried to use it. As I have been searching for solutions, I have watched the battery drain from 100 down to 1 again- in a matter of 20 minutes. What the heck is going on?

I have turned it in and off, toggled airplane mode... Those are the only go to fixes I know!!

I haven't purchased any apps recently and my software is up to date.

Any help is appreciated!

Instead of obsessing over battery life, just charge the battery overnight, every night, and enjoy using the phone. The only way to get better life is to not use the phone, which defeats the purpose of owning it.

If you really don't want an iCloud account go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendar, tap on the iCloud account and delete it.

im deleting it. but when i look it again the account still in icloud 😟

Yes, of course, because there are always background processes running on the phone. If you can get through a day without recharging don't worry about it. If you can't then you need to figure out which app is using power. Common apps that do this are email, especially if you have an Exchange, Gmail, Yahoo, or iCloud account, Facebook and other social networking apps, and news apps that update in real time.

And 4 hours of gaming will run the battery down pretty effectively.

If I could offer a 2nd opinion. The two, maybe three most battery drainers in the phone are location services, storage and backup (if you have set to auto back up), and siri, Those 3 can drain the battery fast. Try turning them off will save tons of battery.

Hi Friends,

I have found a solution for my iPhone battery life: recharge the battery until reach 80 to 90%. Make a full recharge just once a month (IOS 6 User's Guide). It takes few days to see the improvements.
