Where does iTunes 11 put rentals?

I was/am...how could I have replied otherwise?

11.01 (Windows) - rented a movie and found it impossible to find - I tried pretty hard. Googled the issue and eventually ended up finding the file in the filesystem and dragging it into iTunes. When I did this a "Rented" tab appeared under Library:Films. Before this it wasn't there. Immensely frustrating.

This is how I solved it:

I opened iTunes (v11.0.1) and went to my library and viewed my movies section.

I then went to the drop down menus at the top and selected Store>Check for available downloads.......

And voila! It started to download.

Also, the rented tab suddenly appeared.

It took me 15 minutes to find this Rented Tab. iTunes 11 is just crap! It is a usability horror! Thanks for giving me the last reason to uninstall this application!!!!!!

I still can't find where iTunes puts rentals. Is this because I rented the movies directly from my iPad? I am running iTunes 11.1.3.8. There is no drop-down or tab for Rentals when I look in Movies in my Library. Purchased in my library only shows music. Same thing when I go to the iTunes Store and look under movies. When I go to Purchased in the iTunes store it only shows movied I've bought, not rentals. Soooo confused.

Movies rented on iOS devices do not show up in the iTunes library. To view movie rentals open the Videos app.

Is thers a video app for the MacAir? Where can I find the rental on my Mac?

Not exactly. You see movie rentals in iTunes. However movies rented on iOS devices will not be available in iTunes unless you transfer them.

Apple is ridiculous!!! Wasn't the whole Apple culture built on being "intuitive & user friendly"? Why then would they continue to make changes to iTunes that make it increasingly more difficult to use?

Watching rented movies is next to impossible now. But call the help & suport line and "they've never heard of that problem"?!?!?!?!

just paid twice for same movie as could not find original one - rubbish system

I am binning my apple TV as more hassle than its worth user friendly what is user friendly about it

Hi I just had this problem and figured it out myself after 2 hours of messing around and getting frustrated, if you have a MAC ( because most of these seem to be windows related) and you cant find a movie you just rented ( which is what happened to me) you click in the search bar in the right hand corner and type in 'downloads' and click on the left hand side 'itunes downloads' then your movie should appear so double click it and then right click and select 'open with' and select 'itunes' form the programs bar and it should play. im still going to complain to apple though as this was VERY FRUSTRATING and a huge waste of my time.
