Sending fax via USB cable connected to fax supported printer

Hi there,

Recently switched from PC to MAC, found out that there is no telephone line slot on the computer so I am assuming there is no modem in it. But I have a canon mx308 all in one printer which supports faxing as well. Is there any way I can connect the printer with standard USB cable and use the printer to send out the faxes directly from computer? Appreciated.

The Mac already picked up and installed the drivers for printer automatically and both print and scan options are working fine but there is no option / tab coming up for fax in settings> print & scan of Mac.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers

Got it (obviously a little slow sometimes, LOL) - I am out of ideas; aside from checking with Canon, I wonder if your AIO is much like mine: can be used as a fax machine, but can't fax using the Mac OS and no software to allow it to is included. I've tried my Epson and it does work but the document needs to be placed in the scanner and the LCD panel needs to be used.
