Apple TV Movie icon disappeared from Menu

The Apple TV Movie menu icon and TV show menu icons have disappeared from the main menu on my Apple TV.

I have tried logging out from iTunes account and restarting the box, but still nothing.

Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

Although changing the location to United States in "Settings - iTunes Store - Location" brings both icons back and they work absolutely fine.

Changing back to UK just shows the TV Shows icon for me at the moment.

So using the United States location may be a workaround for the time being?

Thanks CAppleA...

Nice of Apple to let their users know that they have decided to do an update to their systems - at what would probably be one of their busiest times of the year in terms of people using it!

Well my ATV is right in the middle of a restore at the moment - but if your experiance is anything to go by then it sounds like that's not going to make a difference - just cause me pain in having to set up all my accounts again!

Yes, bizarre timing when new users of AppleTV will suddenly find their devices unreliable!

Maybe this is not a planned outage but some emergency work they have had to do.

I just cant believe that Apple havent posted anything relating to this issue or sent out a form of communication to advise of the problem.

Working in IT myself, I know that sometimes when a critical problem arises, you dont have time to advise users of what the issue is - as resolving it is the priority.

However if the problem lasts a while (as this one has.... at least 8 hours!) then at the very least you should put something on a website/twitter account/facebook ... anywhere - just to let people know.

I bet their tech support are being inundated with calles do to thiss simple lack of communication!

Well Apple, this is truly pathetic - you create an unnanounced problem on one of the top TV watching days of the year, its symptoms appear (as is so often the case now that Apple is the New Microsoft) to be the user's fault, you have no way of giving network status reports on the device, you keep hush hush about it online, and the rest of use are stuck with paied for content we can't watch and a feeling that. aside from being totally in the dark, it is somehow our own fault. And doubtless you will redact this post. Before you do so, think about who you now are, who you used to be, and whether tht change is for the better?

I see this has been going on for a few years. I just experienced this for the first time today.

What I like best about this thread is the replies that begin with: "Welcome to the Apple Community."

This was just after my daughter noticed the suggestions Google gave when I typed in: "Apple TV movies."

My daughter thought the suggestions where rather funny, but then I had to show her why they were even funnier than she realized:
