Apple TV Movie icon disappeared from Menu

Although changing the location to United States in "Settings - iTunes Store - Location" brings both icons back and they work absolutely fine.

Changing back to UK just shows the TV Shows icon for me at the moment.

So using the United States location may be a workaround for the time being?

There are reports of TV Shows missing from users screens, initially it looked like this might be an issue in the UK only, but it may well be more widespread. It appears to be an issue that can't be fixed by the user, you will need to wait until this is resolved by Apple.

Same problem in Belgium, no movie icon, changing to Netherlands restores it immediately.

I guess we can only wait?

Called Apple and got prompt (free) service. They suggested restoring to factory settings and that worked. I was just too lazy to reenter all of the settings and passwords to try that originally.

Eng: Yes... It's solved in Spain. You only have tu reset the appletv

What you have to do is reset your Apple TV in settings and after you do that and set up your Apple TV again you'll have your missing icons

Factory Restore worked for me. I'm in Brazil also...

This may sound a little too obvious, but this is what worked for me.

I had updated the Apple TV and then the icon disappeared from macbook. I fooled around with this problem for a few hours until I realized I probably have to turn on AirPlay again. So I went into Setting and turned on AirPlay. And thats what worked for me. 😝

I tried changing the location to US I can see the icon and the movies but I can't purchase as the pop up window shows that i have only to purchase from I tunes store Malaysia

Yeah I'm getting that now as well.

Earlier it was showing me my purchased films and rentals and was letting me play them when using US.

However now they arent showing at all under US and I cant purchase anything either.

Set it back to UK and still no Movies.

However my other ATV has just done a software update and after resetting it does have movies on it (no TV Shows though).

So i'm going to bite the bullet and do a factory restore on my ATV in the off chance that this gets movies back (not holding up much hope though).

Havent been able to get hold of Apple Tech support yet - so still not sure if they are aware of this problem or working on it... I would hope they are - but their system status page still shows everything as being ok: http://www.apple.com/uk/support/systemstatus/

I havent yet seen any posts from anyone else yet stating that they've spoken to Apple about this... Is anyone logging this problem with their Tech Support?

USA, movie app disappeared. Returned after restart. It does not sound like that will help anyone but that's what worked for me.

I've got the same problem too, my movies icon has just vanished .. Was there a few moments ago.

My Movies icon came back without a reboot of the ATV - and has been working fine for the last hour.

Although I didnt have the TV Shows icon...

Just rebooted my ATV and now the Movies icon has gone - but the TV Shows icon is back - which is frustrating as we were about to rent a film off of iTunes!

Wish I hadnt of rebooted it now!
